For the money that is spent on accomodation this is a fun loving location. I look forward to go every year but if your are not into night life get a cabin closer to the road. The beach bar comes alive at nights especially Wednesday nights. The food is unbelievable tasty; not to mention the pancakes!!!! yummmmy!!!. The staff is... more

Teddy Plummer and his staff are the best on the Island I have travelled to Jamaica several times (19) and have stayed all over the island.I have stayed all inclusive a few times but prefer going it on my own.I have spent 2 Christmas' at Roots Bamboo both times I took my daughter for her 16th and 18th Christmas.The people... more

I love Jamaica and its one of my favourite destinations. Under my first visit in 2006 I went to Negril an we heard from others that the Roots Bamboo was the place to stay for young travelers..but we had arranged to stay somewere else.. This was my first time in Negril, Jamaica & at Roots Bamboo! I had a good time! Plus Terry Linen performed, so then it was a great time! The crowd is an eclectic mix of people for sure at Roots Bamboo, but that's what makes it unique! In my opinion this place is one of the worst I have been to in Negril for nightlife. From the minute you walk towards the entrance you are hassled by taxi drivers, vendors and beach gigolos. I think a lot of this has to do with the fact that there is no admission price unless there is a special guest... more

I stayed here for about three years ago, in April. I'll say, it wasn't too bad.and for what we paid, it was, for the most part, pretty good. The beach was right there (a beautiful beach, btw), but I was a little uncomfortable by the near constant sales pitches from the locals. I understand that a dollar goes far in... more

Roots Bamboo is the place to go. A cabin right on the beach, What more could you ask for . The owner and his staff are awesome. We won't stay anywhere else. more

Roots Bambo.........a cottage right in the beach and less than $20 a night...who can complain? The staff was great. Live Jamaican reggae from up and coming dancehall artists.
