Being huge fans of Reggae we were so lucky on this trip. A bus driver at the hotel told us It was The day of the Peter Tosh Festival woohoo, we already had a driver for the day so we told him we would like to go see this. No problem Mon lol, it was about an hours drive from... More

Wanted to leave a review only because the comment about getting there! We stopped in this little town where Peter Tosh was from. The beach and beer joint across the street was very authentic! I would like to return someday and stay longer and visit the monument. I think it's worthwhile trip if you want to escape the tourist and... More

Getting to this place is half the fun. It is about 45 mins. from Negril and you get to see beautiful scenery, as well as, several cool little towns. When we arrived we were greeted by "Squid," a pleasant young man who gave us a tour of the compound and history of Peter Tosh, the town, the family and was... More

My husband is a big-time reggae fan so this was a must to do on our trip to Jamaica. Like previous reviewers have said, the entrance is easy to miss. We drove by it several times. We had to tip some local guys to help us find it. A sign nearby would definitely be a good thing. Once inside, there... More

The big yellow fence was not enough to catch my eye the first time and i walked right by lol. The admission was overpriced but what are you gonna do. There's nothing inside except the grave. Peter's mom had just died so didn't get to see her. The guy who let us in was named Squid, really nice young man.... More

Noticed this on the way to my hotel 1st day. I decided then I would visit the Monument before I left. Had a charter for the day and my girl and I went to visit. Cost was of no problem, as a fan of reggae music, I felt a need to go. We had a good chat with 1 of... More

While travelling from Black River to Negril, this is a nice insight for lovers of Peter Tosh's music or even just reggae in general...... Peter Tosh has been a pioneer of great reggae and should always be remembered. The guides do not offer that great depth to the story of his life though..... needs a bit of organisation.

There is not a lot to see, and you have to pay to look at the mausoleum . Just do not pay what they ask , ten dollars each is reasonable for a fan. I did it and did not regret it , but i am a fan so it meant something to me to be there . For the... More
