You can the the catamaran or go by highway. We took the cat, and loved it. Snorkeling on the way to the falls, and then an open bar with lots of food on the way home. The falls are spectacular. Take tip money for the boat folks and your falls guide.

We were there with 2 boys, it was our younger son's 10th birthday. The falls are tremendously exhilarating but relatively easy to climb so we did not need guides helping us to climb. One kept bothering us even after we clearly said no thanks but eventually left us alone.

We are an active couple in our mid-60s who exercise frequently and have no mobility problems. Dunn's Falls is an 1800 foot rocky climb with rushing water most of the way. We arrived at Dunn's River Falls via catamaran and it was truly a fun experience. Highly recommended.

too much walking and too crowded, make sure cruise ships aren't in port because that is where they all go for the day

climbing the falls would in this manner would never be allowed in the states, too much liability, so do it in Jamaica!!
