My husband and I enjoyed our trip down the Martha Brae River. Delroy, our Raft Captain, was informative and engaging. But he also knew when to let the sound of the overhead birds and the gentle current take centre stage. It was a very nice chill-out experience: sun-dappled light, blue-green water and the odd breeze that rippled across the current.... More

3 teenage boys on one raft, parents on another. James and Sam, our polers, were fun, kind and polite and let the boys pole on their own for a bit. A nice quiet ride and the various types of trees, flora and fauna were explained along the way. Great value.

Martha Brae River Rafting - Feb 11th, 2015. This is not an exhilarating white water experience, just a relaxing laid-back scenic trip down a lazy river on a bamboo raft with a knowledgeable and friendly guide. The guide pointed out the names of a number of the trees and birds that we encountered. We also saw several individuals selling refreshments... More

When in northern coast on the island this is one thing we can recommend. It was very relaxing and nice to slowly float along the beautiful river.

My daughter and I had a good time but it is definitely an expensive tourist trap. Our cost was $140 (USD) (incl. transportation) for about an hour trip down the Martha Brae – extremely over priced! Our Guide hardly spoke and appeared more interested in getting us to the end as fast as he could. Some Guides were singing and... More

This is a slow, meandering, river trip through a scenic area; however, the river and surrounding area is trashy and needs a good weekend cleaning. There was nothing extra special about the trip, but it was something different to do.

Visited Martha Brae river on March 7th 2015. The fee is $60 per raft. The only reason why I chose this excursion was because it's one of its kind. Having done white water rafting a couple of times, I wasn't looking for an adventure BUT peace and tranquility. Martha Brae river rafting provided us just that. I enjoyed 90 mins... More

My husband and I chose the river rafting over a number of other available excursions and were not disappointed. The trip downriver from our starting point lasted about one and a half hours. We thoroughly enjoyed the utter peace and tranquility of the journey. Passing by lush vegetation, we heard and saw many birds, including a large heron searching for... More

We tubed down the Martha Bra. We got a history lesson and one of the guides climbed the tree and got coconuts out of it. We stopped along the shore and they rubbed our feet with lime. They were funny and the water is beautiful there. Well worth the money!

The day we chose to try the rafting tour was very quiet (only two other rafts on the river) so all was peaceful and very pleasurable. The guide was great. There are some ninety four rafts available and on a busy day it could have been the opposite sort of experience.
