My husband and I decided to do the river rafting trip as a relaxing and romantic way of seeing some of the country. The river is only about 45 minutes from Montego Bay. Once there we had to wait about an hour which was a bit disappointing but we wandered around the river bank and chilled out. Once on the... More

We liked the entire trip and our captain, Donald, was very informative but did not spend the entire time talking so we were able to just enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Really enjoyed floating down the river on a handmade bamboo raft, the rafts take two people and cost $30 US per person, you can buy tickets right at the rafting . Our raft captain Steve was extremely friendly and was very happy to answer any questions we had. The rafts are Jamaicans answer to Venice gondolas steered the same way... More

Bamboo rafting on the Martha Brae was one of the highlights of our trip to Jamaica. A fun and relaxing way to see the river. Our captain made this experience really fun. He had more than 30 years experience, and gave us lots of information about the wildlife, flora and fauna. He also let me have a go piloting the... More

Beautiful ride, but there are hustlers along the river, who are selling beverages, bamboo raft replecas, gaudy towels, etc., including the raft operator (selling carved gourds) ...it seems like you can't get away from the hustling in Jamaica.

Love the free drink, raft and tour guide. The ride down the Martha Brae is about an hour long, but time seems to stand still as you gaze on the natural beauty of the surroundings. Disliked the pushy sales people.

The ride was close to two hours long. The boatman told us that the flow of the river has a lot to do with that. We were there several days after a good rain so I would think this was an average ride. Green water and shoreline filled with birds, reptiles and plants.

I have rafted the Martha Brae 5-6 times. Always relaxing and the guides are very knowledgeable. Take a chance on the Tarzan Swing. Take your own cooler as the vendors are not cheap. $30 per person.
