We were so disappointed to visit the Hip Strip! Not sure what we were imagining... but certainly not this very noisy and rather dingy place. The beaches in between are lovely...but to get to them is not exactly laid back nor attractive, as you have to walk on the road. Cars etc... continuously zoom by, honking... We really preferred Negril... More

The Hip Strip vendors will hound you unrelenting, don't want to hear the answer "No" Learned quickly to just say "Hey man, just chillin, respect my friend" They do back off right away to allow you a vacation of peace. Just that you have to say it a lot when you go out lol. We walked into the center of... More

Guess we thought there was more to do on the strip, just stores with same stuff, walked up and down and tried to get on the beach but it was cruise ship day so everyone was charging to hit the sand.

I was expecting something more. I spent 10 days in a "condo" with a balcony overlooking the strip. I took time my 1st day to chat with each person who approached me for shopping, I told them I wasnt going to shop until I left in 11 days. I told taxi drivers I had a driver for the time I... More

I just spent a week at a hotel on the hip strip. Everyday I'd walk the street. Everybody, and I mean everybody is trying to sell stuff (cab rides, craft stores, drugs, braid your hair....). For the first day or two I must of said "no I'm good" a 1000 times. After a couple of days they remembered me. Shopping... More

The part of Gloucester Ave that I saw was typical location for tourists to buy cheap junk. That's not offensive to me but I was embarassed to see drunk US and Canadian tourists carousing in the street in their bathing suits and carrying beer cans and Solo cups. I know they do that everywhere. Guess I'm getting old!

I felt traveling up and down the streets here with a lot of police presence. I felt safe at night as well. Lots to see on this avenue

Not what I expected. About 2-3 blocks worth of shops all selling the same thing, but for different prices. My friend and I are in our mid twenties and were constantly being honked at, whistled at, yelled at, or offered drugs (weed, cocaine etc) by people outside the shops/locals. Margaritaville is at the end of the hip strip and has... More
