My group of 21 arrived from the Carnival Conquest on Sept. 30. Entrance to beach can seem a little hectic(many, many Jamaicans, as it is located in the "Hip Strip") but once you get inside, the beach is incredible! We scored an area under the palm trees so we only rented 2 other umbrellas for shade & a few lounge... more

I'm not usually much of a beach sitter, preferring to see new things and have new experiences when I'm in another country. Doctor's Cave Beach was so beautiful we went back a second day. On the weekends the crowd is mixed local and tourist, with many more tourists on weekdays. Go early and stake out a spot beneath the palms.... more

Doctors Cave has some definitely pluses: location, location, location. But the service and cleanliness of the rooms is not great - and I am not a picky person. Go early to breakfast otherwise they run out of things. The food is okay enough. This place used to be much better but it seems to be going downhill in terms of... more

Just returned from a 5 day stay at Breezes resort, right behind Doctor's Cave Beach. Spent many hours each day on the beach. The snorkeling on the coral reefs was really nice, we saw squid, parrot fish, skates, and a number of other fish. Some came right up to us! The water was the perfect temperature, and so clear you... more

We recently spent a pleasant day on this beach having arrived in Montego Bay on Ocean Village Cruise Ship. Only a very short distance by taxi. Fee on entry and extra if you require sunbeds/umbrella. Clean sands. Sea fine for a swim. Food and drink, changing facilities readily available. Monetgo Bay wasn't our favourite place. Worth a visit to Doctors... more

If you've ever had anxiety about where to enjoy a beach day without an all-inclusive expense in Montego Bay, Doctor's Cave Beach is it! Located on the Hip Strip of MoBay about 1000' away from Margaritaville, Doctor's Cave Beach offers a white sandy beach with lifeguard, no hassle from street vendors, very affordable drink and food service from a couple... more

We are used to stunning Caribbean beaches, clear water, fine sand, etc. The beaches we saw in Montego Bay did not come close. Doctor's Cave Beach appeared to be the best of the lot with no hustlers. But it cost five dollars U.S. to use the place and during our visit (November 6-9, 2007) the water was murky. In fairness,... more

On the stip within walking distance of so many resorts and hotels! Pay the $5 US and look for an abandoned umbrella or pick out a spot under a tree in the palm grove. Beach food servers will bring you snacks, meals and drinks. The life guards are friendly, smart. And the sand is clean, water pristine. 3 huge trampoline-type... more

We visited Doctor's Cave Beach while cruising on the Carnival Conquest. Instead of signing up through the ship, we just took a taxi. The officials at the port were highly organized and got us on a nice van/taxi with a very nice driver and tour guide. Though they tried mightily to talk us into paying for a city tour, none... more

We just came back from a 7 day Western Caribbean cruise on Royal's Liberty of the Seas. The ship was great, but this review is about what to do in Montego Bay. First of all, we don't like taking the excursions offerred by the cruise lines. They are generally over-priced and we hate being herded like cattle. We found a... more
