My husband loves rum so we decided to go on this tour. The bus ride is very long and quite scary but totally worth it! Once you get there the smell almost knocks you on your butt! It stinks but keep going anyway the tour is absolutely amazing! And I highly recommend it to anyone who goes to Jamaica!

We drove ourselves to the Appleton Estate and saw a great deal the Jamaican countryside due to my awful map reading and some elusive signs. This aside once we got there it was well worth the journey The tour was informative and a special mention has to go to Armstrong was awesome with facts and figures about the estate and... More

The Appleton Rum Estate educates a tourist about the history or rum in Jamaica... Did you know that the estate is surrounded by mountains and in the hurricane season one of the safest places to be...? I'd love to be stranded there...hic

I'm not really a rum connoisseur but this tour was pretty cool. Tour guide Norman was awesome and kept us informed. The rum tasting at the end was a plus! A bit of a drive from Negril and I don't know if I would have made the trip if I were vacationing farther away than Negrils 2 hour ride.

maybe we just found it ok after visiting the Bacardi factory in Puerto Rico, but it was VERY informative, free shots of every rum (yay!), and the staff was really friendly and entertaining. Tour lasts just long enough to keep you interested. I would recommend only if you've never been to one before, they're kind of all the same, and... More

I went on the Appleton tour in a group of 9, and we had an amazing time. I'm on a business trip packed with fun excursions, so we ran late to our Appleton tour, but they were incredibly patient with us and didn't rush us at all even though they were closing. When we first arrived, they fed us a... More

The tour itself was comprehensive and informative. Every aspect of rum making, from cutting the cane to aging the final product was covered and explained clearly. The cost --$25/per person -- would not have been excessive had the tasting session at the end included at least some of the distillery's higher-end products. Instead we were offered virtually limitless amounts of... More

We visited the estate as part of an organised tour around the island, so didn't have very long there. However, we got to tour the old anew parts of the rum distillery , and this was very interesting. And of course the free samples went down well

The Appleton Estate is definitely worth the drive and visit! Upon arrival, we were immediately directed toward the bar where we were served all you could drink rum punches with raw sugar cane to chew. After a few rounds of punches, we started on the tour. We were able to watch sugar cane juice extracted via donkey turned press like... More

Peter, our personable guide, made our rum tour quite enjoyable. Of course, the rum punch we were served upon arrival also helped immensely. If you are nervous or easily become car sick, the long roller coaster ride to the southern part of the island will make the rum punch even more welcome. This estate is nestled in the middle of...
