We did not know what to expect but were blown away. If you want to get completely wet doing really fun things in a crystal clear network of falls over the course of 1.5 hrs with a guide (ours was Asari - ask for him ahead of time; he's worth an exorbitant tip) who is really an entertainer, this is... Our family (with 2 sons in college) wanted to do a waterfall hike while our cruise ship ported in Montegeo Bay. We had heard that Dunn's River Falls was overrun with tourists, and wanted to get off the beaten path. So we rented a car to see the island. (Driving a rental in Jamaica is a whole other story.) After... More

I think this place is probably great, but unfortunately we didn't make it here because we got conned by a Jamaican on a motorcycle. We rented a car and were driving through Savannah and missed a turn. A man named David on a motorcycle told us that Mayfield falls was closed because of a drowning and they had taken down... More

We went during a cloudy day, and we were the only people there, which was awesome since we had the whole falls to ourselves. It was high-up in the mountains, so the water is pretty cold, but refreshing and an almost spiritual experience when it started raining through the high-canopy tropical trees, and it was just me, my husband, and... Mayfield Falls is a nice place to spend an afternoon. It is $15 per person, plus $6 per person if you do not have water shoes... which are required. The guides are super nice and very knowledgeable of the fauna, mountains, and river falls. Take Note: the climb in and out of the falls is a little steep, so if... More

This is a trip to take over and over again. I have lost count of my visits here. Unlike Dunns River fall, Mayfield Falls is not a steep climb, so it was much more relaxing. It is mineral rich water which also offers underwater dry caves, diving spots, and swim through underwater tunnels. I have traveled here with different people... More

We've been to YS Falls twice before our visit to Mayfield. Mayfield was more walking in the water and enjoying the falls. It rained fairly hard most of our tour, and it didn't bother us at all. Our guide Ian did a great job, and we showed our appreciation at the end with a generous tip.

The pictures don't do this place justice. I almost didn't go because it didn't look impressive, but I'm so glad I did. You trek through gorgeous mineral pools and some have waterfalls you can sit under, like a natural jacuzzi. I think part of the reason I loved it was because our guide, Jester, was completely on point, helping us... More

Let me start by saying I was a little skeptical about going into the mountains with just me and my girlfriend but ended up on a tour and met some great friends from our hotel.. im so glad I didn't listen to my gut and went!!! The ride there is great you see the real jamaica, the dirt roads and... More

It was rainy season, the fall had a lot of water. It was thrilling and gorgeous. Jamaica is one of the most beautiful countries I have ever been, and this falls were just breath taking. Bring water shoes. Rocks are pretty sharp, we made the mistake of going barefoot. Oh and take a guide!
