For years we had wanted to see Jamaica but perhaps that made us expect more. It was just ok and for the price Cuba's beaches win hands down. The beach for most of the people we talked to didn't seem to be any part of the reason they were there and most everyone hung around at the pool.

We have been using hugh johnson to escort us around Jamaica for the last twenty years. As a former history teacher in runaway bay, he is Incredibly knowledgable about the island history and culture. He is also a safe and sane driver, especially appreciated here, the kids love him too! An added benefit, he knows all the best jerk shacks!

Recently visited and loved every minute of it. It made me want to return. The people were friendly, the service good and our driver, Andrew Moodie of Moodie Transport was AWESOME. I look forward to returning soon. :)

This is a great spot if you would like to take in all the attractions, it is so close to Ocho Rious & all the resorts offer transport into the town for shopping, ours ( Jewel Runaway Bay) offered a shopping trip for about 4 hours , just bus in & a bus back for $15 per head. The beachs... More

We visited a family member who owns a home in a gated Community called Richmond Estates, then we went to the beach, I do not remember the name, but it was a Private beach in Maamee Bay, very lovely place, we got to purchase live fresh seafood from the local fishermen, it was lovely thaw freshest you can ever get... The entire stay at the resort was a grand experience. Every morning, afternoon and evening was nothing less than enjoyable. The rooms were very neat, clean and impressive. The dining was very good to the taste. The beaches were not only fun and relaxing, but also romantic. The pools and swim-up bars were the best. Everything that is needed to help... More

We stayed in a resort in Runaway Bay (Luxury Gran Bahia) for a week in the beginning of September. Although the resort was beautiful, the ride from the airport to the resort made me think we were touring Baghdad. At least half of the buildings are only partially constructed with rebar extending from the top. I later found out from... More

Well. If it hadn't been your TripAdvisor encouraging message, I wouldn't have started again. But, as long as you want to know where else I've travelled this year. . . Until now . . . Easter vacation in Jamaica! The Runaway Bay! Long time planned!!! Unfortunately, I was unlucky. Got the short end of the stick. Wrong resort, wrong hotel,... More
