Short boat ride but amazing. The tour guide could call the crocs out of hiding so we could see them up close in their natural habitat - amazing. The tour guide was very knowledgeable - not just the scripted stuff but could answer any question.

If your primary goal of visiting the Black River is to see crocodiles you really don't need to take the boat trip up the river. Judging from my short visit in November 2014, the most and biggest crocs hang out right at the boat docks. We took a smaller private boat (versus the larger pontoon boats) up the river (USD$40... I think this is a great experience for any Wildlife lover. You get to see the Crocodile nursery and hold a baby Crocodile (with assistance of course lol). The Captain was very entertaining and we saw beautiful birds, Crocodiles and enjoyed the sceneries surrounding the lake. Black River looks like something from Jurassic Park and I think it is one... Absolutely loved the tour that we went on. Our guides were both very entertaining and showed us a lot of crocs throughout the river. We also were able to hold a young croc in their sanctuary that they have on site. Definitely worth the long drive.

it was short boat trip to see crocodile with some history of the area, would suggest doing this with another tour to make up the day as we did it alongside Appleton rum tour and ys falls so even though it was full day it was great

Black River is a fascinating place to tour by boat, the tour guide was very animated and knew his stuff. The river itself is varied and beautiful with mangrove swamps, grassy areas and an interesting place where two rivers meet. Recommended.

The black river was surreal, the crocodiles were beautiful! I saw them with a book excursion. I was able to hold a crocodile and they were beautiful.
