The hugest trees the tallest bamboo ever, the views were lovely. We decided to take raft trip down this river sonamed for its waters are dark. The guy punting us down was fairly quiet not sure if he had his mind on the job at hand..he provided a safe journey and we enjoyed all the wildlife on the way.we. stopped... More

Avoid being packed in like a sardine on a tourist tour boat and hire a local fisherman to take you up river it causes less environmental impact.

If you like nature and crocodiles you will really like this tour. The tour guide was very helpful telling us about the black river and all the species of bird and animals living there.

We took a small boat from Treasure beach so we spent 1 hour travelling down the coast before entering the river. The trip along the coast is spectacular if calm and frightening if the sea is choppy so be warned. Once you enter the river everything is calm. There are plenty of crocs if you are quiet and look carefully.... More

Wasn't so sure about visiting the Black River as we heard you got bitten a lot whilst on the boat and my partner does get quite a few. We were wrong to listen but really glad we booked it, we saw some amazing wildlife and most importantly........the CROCS. They were amazing!! The driver was very imformative, he loved what he... It was so interested to hear about how the Black River was named - and seeing nature - the unique trees and birds - made me appreciate Jamaica even more!

Black River is exactly that...a black river. In portions of the river the fresh water and salt water mix and I believe that is what makes it black, but can't swear to it. At any rate, crocodiles like to live in the river and have been trained to come to the boat for chicken. Some captains stop the boat and... More

Loved this trip. Lots of Crocodiles. Unusual place as although the boat trip is far to short and quick, you get to see Crocs up close and personal

About the only trip in Jamaica we thought was good value. Entertaining boat ride and not every day you see someone lift up the head of a 7 foot croc in the river. some things like the supposedly poor cow that fell in the river to be torn apart by the crocs (i guess the rope from it's legs to...
