Spice Market / St Georges – Hilly town. Dropped off in market area. Tour guides will come up and try to take you on guided tour around town, maybe without you knowing it, as they kind of start talking to you and walking with you and pointing out stuff. Advice – if you don’t want a guided tour, as soon... More

If you truly want to taste Grenada, then you have to visit the Market Square in St. George's town. At the market you can get all the different spices available on the island, as well as local fruits, vegetables, provisions and so much more. You can't visit Grenada without visiting the Market Square.

Very crowded, all vendors are trying to sell you their wares. Most are selling the exact same thing for about the same price. It's an experience. Everyone was very polite and helpful, in fact we had to pay a "guide" to go away!

I wasn't impressed with the market. Everyone sold the same merchandise and the locals are what I call nice-nasty. They are polite and accommodating, if they think you are buying but once they realize you are just browsing they become short with you.

We spend three weeks on Carriacou and visited the market square many times. It is nothing special, but Carriacou is very special. We will definately come again. Don´t look for great shopping. You will find great people, great nature and a peaceful place... Try the hidden liming bar at the end of the beach...

Yes, this is a must visit because it is part of what Grenada is about. There is both an indoor and outdoor market. There are many fruits and vegetables on show for sale as are the many spices. The pungent smells of the spices in the indoor market are glorious. I have no idea if, as one of the reviewer's... More

Very typical market place to buy local fresh foods and wares. We went there to shop and ended up at the mall property. Smells were not pleasant, this was our first time in a country like this and are just not accustomed to sewer smells where we are trying to buy food. Locals will offer to be your personal guide,... We stayed at Sandals on the island. Took a taxi into the town center. The people are nice but from the moment you step out of the taxi they are following you and trying to direct you to their stand or their market or offer you personal guided walking tours. It was typical for the islands but still not what... More

This is a busy market square with lots of people buying and selling produce. We went on Friday evening and again around lunch time on Saturday. Both busy times but also different. Friday had lots more chicken bbq being cooked up in the street. Felt safe.
