It is worth going to the market on a Saturday when all the traders are there to sell their wares. Yes you are approached by people as you walk past their stalls, but if you say no thanks, you are left alone. I bought some spices and don't know whether I got a good deal, but it wasn't a lot... More

The market was fun but beware of the hard sell. Spices, tee shirts, hats, trinkets its all there. You will be hard pushed to say no, and the locals will push hard to get a sale.

But better place if you're looking for fresh produce. Also many shops in the area including a duty-free store in the cruise ship tunnel of shops in the mall, but I thing the best prices were at the Best Little Liquor store in the airport. Best booze, chocolate, and hot sauce prices we found.

Had a lovely hour or so walking round the market and buying spices. People there are very friendly and don't bother you too much.

saturday is popular because the vendors come from all over the island. Island variety is limited. Not too much imported. The fish market has the freshest catches and the mongers know how to fillet their catch. Get ready to be bumped and you wont have to haggle price the price is already right.

I love shopping and exploring the many different stalls and booths. I picked up a variety of spices, chocolates, and candy. What I didn't enjoy was the constant invitation from everyone to visit their booths.

Like any other market on most of the islands, any of the stalls have basically the same items to purchase, the vendors weren't too pushy if you told them no thanks.

Just love the market.... the smells of the spice, the vibrancy of the locals, the friendly stall holders. If you talk to the local stall holders you will learn all about the spices and their products, visit Patrick's stall with his wonderful home made wines!!

I went on a weekday so it wasn't as crowded, but then you get harassed more to buy from the vendors. If you go on the weekend there are more vendors and it seems more choices. Good place to get fresh vegetables, fruits, spices, and extracts.
