On the crazy roads with the strange round abouts that consist of only a stack of tires in the middle, the fort was easy to find. If you have a guide, it's probably easier, but the driving part was part of the adventure and the locals seem to recognize tourists and cut yu some slack. The 360 views are beautiful.... More

The view from here is priceless. You have to hold on to your hat as it is very windy. Here wind energy is trapped and converted to electricity. The locals find here to be an ideal place to fly madbull kites which sound like giant bees buzzing around.

Unlike Fort George this place is a museum and an inactive fort. It has great views and out guide Alice was a great help. It was fun to scramble around, and figure out how it worked. Being able to see both the Caribbean and Atlantic is neat.

Our taxi driver asked if we wanted to do a quick stop at Fort Frederick. It was an easy "Yes". The view here is spectacular. You can see two sides of the island from this site - one side is residential areas (some expensive properties) and the other side is the view of St George.

No cannons or mortars to view as at Ft. George, but great views to either side of the island. Our guide was very informative about the island history.

I'd read somewhere on Tripadvisor Forums that there was a bar @ Fort Matthew where you could have a drink & watch the sunset. With that in mind we had our driver end our tour of the island at that point. The sentry there said they didn't open until 7:00 PM and were serving dinner. It was a wonderful view... More

Fort Frederick has a spectacular view of St. Georges and the harbor. Nice bit of history on the island.

Follow the road to Richmond Hill and climb up steepish slopes to Fort Frederick. great views over the Island in all directions. The Fort is largely unrestored and there is little of interest on the ground. But do read the Fort's history to get an idea of its importance both in long gone history and in more recent troubled times.... More

We were wondering around St. Georges and was approached by a local tour guide who ask if we would be interested in a walking tour of the city, to include Fort Frederick. We said yes and had a delightful tour of the city and he took us to the fort the easy back way. Once in the fort the city... More
