We had been to multiple forts around the Caribbean and to be honest, once you have seen one, you have seen them all with the exception of San Juan. Therefore, visit if easy to get to and as part of a tour but not as a sole reason for venyuring there. The best one j St Georges is St Georges... More

The trip was worth learning about the forts on the island. OUr guide was Alice in wonderland. She was fantastic and took her time to explain everything and answer all of our questions. She even walked us over to Fort Andrew and guided us thru those ruins. It was time well spent.

We really enjoyed our visit to Fort Frederick. Its a great spot for photo's. We recommend finding Alice in Wonderland the local tour guide. She will give your a brief tour and account of her experience of Hurricane Ivan (tip approx 5EC)

A delight every time with its gorgeous 360 degrees view. Worth the trip every time along with a visit to Fort Matthew which is close by.

Amazing views of the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic ocean from up there. 800 ft above sea level. Really gorgeous view of St. George's.

Fort Frederick and Fort Matthew are right next to each other and well worth visiting both. These forts are in an exquisite state of disrepair and are very evocative and photogenic. They are quiet (no other tourists when we were there) and a bit haunting. They also have stellar views of the town, mountains and coastline.

Steep steps to get up to the fort. When you get to the top the sun just beams on you. So hot. Go in the early morning. No tour I just took a taxi into town to see the ruins and take great pictures. History fascinating but don't need a lot of time spent here. Tina Toronto

We stopped here on the Spice Island Half-Day Tour through Sandals. We went up to Fort Frederik where we met "Alice in Wonderland" who was a sweet sweet lady who could not have been more appreciative for us coming to Grenada and coming on the tour. When Hurricane Ivan destroyed the island she lost everything she had except her family... More

We went as part of an organised half day tour. Great views from the fort over this side of the island. Guide is a fun, larger than life character.
