We travelled around DR with our 5 kids aged between 1 and 8 years old for two weeks. Los Haitises National park wasn't our favorite attraction. We originally had planned to go in the morning. When we went to the dock in Samana to ask questions for the next day, they convince us to go in the afternoon and said... More

We did the half-day tour of Los Haitises. A bus picked us up from GBP Cayacoa at 9:00 am and took us the 5 minute ride to a boat at the dock in Samana. The boat ride was scenic and it took about 1/2 hour before we reached the first part of the park. We went to a set of... More

A great trip, especially if you like history. Beautiful scenery. We had lunch at an ecological restaurant and a swim in the waterfalls. Shouldn't be missed. For history buffs a trip to Taino Park is a must. A self guided tour explains the whole history of the island. We recommend Arena Tours for all trips. Patricia speaks several languages and... More

Very picturesque. Learned some interesting things about some bird species. Caves were just okay. Quite long boat ride.

If you like caves this will be fun. Not sure how much of the cave drawings is original or has been "maintained" but quite interesting. The petroglyphs (2 of them side by side) were pretty cool. A good tour that we highly recommend.

The boat trip was fun. Our tour guide was knowledgeable. I was hoping to see a variety of birds and more of the forest. Bathroom facilities are poor.

The bird santuary did not fail to meet our curiosity. The tours of the caves was both educational and exciting. The boat ride over was relaxing and the senery was excellent. Would do this excursion again.

Los Haitises National Park was one of my favorite excursions when I visited my beautiful country. After visiting DR so many times before, I was disappointed that I had never visited this amazing site before. I recommend using a reputable tourist establishment. IT is a long boat ride, but worth every second of it.

The excursion to Los Haitises National Park was very enjoyable and beautiful. A boat takes you to the park where there are many "mini islands" with thousands of birds nesting and making their homes. You stop at a few caves and get out to explore. The caves are interesting and contain pictographs made by the Taino people. Part of the... More
