We booked a trip to the Island with locals who stay by the bridge to nowhere. Went over in a small boat and must admit was very nervous on the journey over as the sea was very choppy and we were sailing into the waves (coming back was a lot better) The Island is divided into two parts, one side...

We went on trip to the national park (caves & birds) then on to Bacardi Island which was nice but not that nice. As in other places it was constant sellers on the beach. We had a nice time but I have seen nicer beaches in Wales.
Nothing great except for the beach..would not let you go see the resort which could actually bring them more business...only half day but was enough..nothing to do...ride over was brutal in small boat..so waves ahead and lots of sore bums!!!!
This was the most amazing holiday. The food was brilliant, the staff are so happy to help and love working there. Beaches are perfect. The whole holiday was perfect. Every night we got back to our room to find a poem on our pillow and chocolates.
The only down side was that we went through Thomson and they decided to...

Everything costs there...if you want a lounge chair it costs...drinks & food are expensive and after leaving the dock you must run the gauntlet of trinket dealers...HOWEVER...The beach is VERY beautiful and the sand is exquisite. Most of the time you can watch fisherman casting their nets into the turquoise waters and even buy some fish from them...um yeah, now...

Visited Cayo Levantado March 1, 2013 as part of a shore excursion on The Norwegian Gem cruise to the Caribbean from NYC. It is a beautiful island, beautiful gorgeous white sand beaches surrounded by coconut palms. It is a key (cayo) so the largest sandy beach or at least the one we visited is about 600 to 800 meters long...

We booked our outing to this island with Norwegian Cruise Line. From the description, we thought it was going to be a "private escape". Not the case at all. The island was crowded. The water was nice and warm but we wanted to be more private. We did go kayaking, swimming and snorkelling (which was included in our package). I...

Just a 20-25 minute boat ride from Santa Barbara, the public beach on this tiny island has lovely white sand and the water is a spectacular green/blue. It's interesting to watch the local fishermen catch grouper just meters from shore. You can do a bit of snorkeling at both ends of the beach. Snacks and several souvenir huts are available.
