Nothing really here I am afraid, we went for the day from Bahia Principe Levantado, and was most disappointed. There is a few shops, but nothing more. We returned after a quick walk and light refreshments.

Cayo Leventado was simply the best hotel. From the beach cleaners to the waiting staff everyone was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was a different theme every night. Something for everyone. Even Lobster on gourmet night.

Samana Bay has lot's to see and do. There is the national park, Cayo Leventado (Bacardi Island), and the small town of Santa Barbara de Samana.

It was a 2 hour drive from Santo Domingo where we flew into, but worth the drive. It was beautiful and exciting to say the least. The Cayo Levantado Hotel was georgeous and the staff was above and beyond perfection. This was our 3rd time to the D.R. and was the best hotel of all. Beautiful & Lush landscape, perfect water,... Our hotel room at Grand Bahia Principe Cayacoa overlooked Samana Bay; it is so picturesque and lush. Lots of boats in the bay. Beautiful!

Great little town with loads of things both in town and nearby. Fantastic fresh fruit and veg market in the middle of town, great quality produce - if you go early enough and fun time bartering over prices.

I and my wife took a program which included this experience and it was a very delightful experience, being so close to such imposing animals makes you feel and think very unusual and yet interesting things.

The landscape in Samana is stunning with lots of coconut palm trees, banana trees and sunny blue skies. Samana bay is calm and warm and no sharks thanks to the many whales that mate and give birth here.

Be careful trying to cross at the traffic circles! It is each person for themselves! Lots of motorbikes, not so sure about traffic rules. The village itself is safe and has a nice boardwalk around the marina

Whale-spotting and national parks. Nice place. A good place to have excursions. The snorkeling is not very exciting.
