Spent the morning out at Macao beach. Nice place to rent a board & hang out by the water. Owner of the surf camp was super nice & let us borrow a couple of chairs to use on the beach. We went in the morning & parked by the surf camp & weren't hassled at all by vendors. If you... More

We visited the Macao Surf Camp just last May 14, 2013 and it was definitely the highlight of our trip. It was actually a last-minute plan to try surfing. We figured, since we're only lounging at the hotel the whole day, might as well try something new. We asked the hotel lobby if they knew about the surf camp and... More

Simply a phenomenal experience! I had been involved heavily ( when younger ) sailing, windsurfing, scuba diving my entire life but had yet to surf. at 48 I decided to bring my daughter 10, and friends daughters 9 & 12. all the kids were apprehensive to say the least. But once they hit that first wave it was all smiles... More

Amazing experience, especially since it was my first time. It would probably enhance the experience if the people helping could brush up on their English, just so they can tell us how to improve when there's something we're doing wrong.

We went to Macao Surf Camp on 5/1. Gustavo picked us up and Jack was in the back seat! (Jack is a surfing golden retriever, and the sweetest thing!) Once we arrived at Macao beach we got ready for our lesson. It was a quick lesson and at first I was nervous to get in the water, but we each... More

I was determined to go surfing at the Macao surf camp after reading nothing but amazing reviews on trip advisor. I was on the trip with a large group for a wedding and was hoping to get a deal because I knew there would other people interested. I booked my trip through the guy at the resort with a group... Daniel picked us up at our hotel and my husband and daughter thought this was the best thing we did while visiting the DR. Daniel told us great stories and the entire staff were very helpful and friendly. Jack kept me company on the beach and we had a blast! Highly recommend. Bring sunscreen and water!

Actually it was June 2011 that I did the Macao Surf Camp. Back then, it wasn't even on Trip Advisor to review or as an activity to do. To even know about it it was word of mouth, find the email off someone else's review, and contact them directly to set it up. Now they have a website, and it's... More

I just turned 51 and have always wanted to surf but never had the chance. I've been reading Trip Advisor for a couple of years and all the reviews for Macao Surf were very positive. So when I had a chance i booked. Gustavo and "Jack the surfing dog" picked me up at my hotel. After the initial group class... More

On a girls get away vacation with 6 friends. We stayed at Dreams Punta Cana (awesome). One friend had surf camp on her "bucket list." They picked up all six of us and charged a nominal transportation fee for the 5 of us that were not surfing. The entire team was wonderful. Rafael was extremely professional, yet personable. They cooked... More
