Could be prettier if the people that take care of this area cared. The tour guides could have cared less about us. The falls are dry and the river is dry due to a drought so there are only 12 falls left to traverse and while pretty seemed overcrowded. Disappointing.

get ready to get wet and jump! an experience I will never forget and well worth it. If you book through a tour group you get a home cooked lunch buffet made on site and great service. People we came across do go above and beyond to make sure you are content and well taken care of.

It was interesting. I wish they had rain because the levels were low. Very pretty. I would definitely not do the 27, its a hike. If the water is up, do the 12, if not only do the 7 falls.

Make sure you are in shape. You will do a lot of hiking and you will have to jump off of cliffs into deep water to hike up to the next set of waterfalls.

This is a must-do if you're taking a trip to northern DR. My girlfriend and I were able to hike and walk down 12 waterfalls for only $15 each, a price that included an all-you-can eat buffet lunch. Each of the falls offers something different. Some are slides, some are tall jumps, and some are both. You're able to walk... More

So we (2 of us) did ALL 27 falls ... I would recommend it if your willing to hike for 45mins - 1 hour . Our guides were entertaining on the way up, although I couldn't really talk and climb/walk in that heat! Take water for the walk up and cip don't gulp! Take water, take water shoes if you... More

Me and my daughter went here in April 2014, we did the shorter course of only nine of the waterfalls as the day was spilt between the waterfalls and visiting numerous villages. I would recommend to do it like that as I think doing the 27 would be physically draining, but then again it depends what you like. The guide... More

I too was concerned about the potential dangers before going, but after reading a bit more it seems most people who have trouble would have trouble on just about anything outdoors. For instance, someone might have fallen off the side of mountain and died doing a hike, but that doesn't mean it is dangerous. As with anything involving nature and... More

Such a fun time - the guides were well-humored and informative. We always felt safer than safe, even when falling in to the water. ;)
