This is an amazing activity and a must-see when in the Dominican. We went in November and the water was very low so wasn't dangerous or overly thrilling but it was absolutely beautiful and a very unique experience. You do have to be in good shape to do it and a good swimmer. If you are going I would do... more

This was one of the highlights of our trip. The short and easy hike to the falls was beautiful. You must pay to enter, but it is fairly inexpensive (depending on what you want to do). To do falls 1-7, it costs about $10 per person. Doing falls 1-7 was not quite enough for us and you can't change your... more

It was actually the most beautiful thing i have ever seen in nature. I have never had so much fun in my entire life. We only did the first 7 waterfalls because we where on a tour that did more things than just the waterfalls, so we only had time to do the first 7 waterfalls. I went with my... more

We were in Puerto Plata, staying at the Riu Mambo, from Oct 22-29. We did the 27 Waterfalls trip on Oct 24. We booked through Iguana Mama. It was the first of three trips we booked through them. Since we booked three trips and booked them online in advance, we ended up saving the 16% tax. We were picked up... more

My wife and I visited the falls using privately hired transportation. We only had time to complete falls 1-9. The cost of falls 1-9 is $250DR (appx $7.50). This was by far the highlight of our Pueto Plata trip!!! The Damajaqua Cascades is an absolute must do side trip for any adventure seeker. You climb the falls and have the... more

I visited the damajaqua cascades about a 2 weeks ago. It was beautiful and great fun. However, a day after I developed a patchy, itchy rash in my legs and feet. I flew back to the US. A couple of days after I developed leg pain. I went to my physician and after a series of tests, I was diagnosed... more

What a beautiful place to visit! The Carribean was warm and perfect for swimming. The beaches we visited were not overcrowded. THe best part of the trip was a day-trip to the 27 Charcos (27 Waterfalls) that was an amazing adventure. It was a combination of hiking, swimming, and then cliff jumping rolled into one. The people in Puerto Plata... more

I definitely had some reservations about doing this after reading other's reviews and watching You-Tube videos, but it was easily the high point of our week's stay in DR. Myself (moderately out-of-shape 45yo woman), husband (same) and 2 teenage boys (16 and 18 yo) did this, and had a blast! It definitely pushed my stamina and strength, and the guides... more

I signed up for thie tour through iguana mama. We did the FULL tour, and most tours are only up to the 7th waterfall. This is a tough day. It is not easy. Even the first 7 waterfalls are challenging. you really do have to have a strong physique and an above average swimmer. You basically walk through the river... more

I've done a few resort excursions in the past and during my trip in DR, I did the zip lining and the waterfalls. I have to say that the waterfalls took me by surprise. I was expecting more of a scenic tour of the waterfalls, but when they told me I needed water shoes, a life vest, and a helmet... more
