ITs more scary than impressive , better go in a very sunny day in order to see the city and be careful up there its not safe get close to the ramp to see down.

Taking the teleferico is an experience all on it's own. If you own a video camera, take it for this trip. If you go inside the monument, be prepared to be bombarded by shop owners. Kindly say no but be firm.

It is a cool place to visit. The tram ride up is a bit scary but the views make it worth it. Once you get to the top you can buy a beer/snacks etc. The gardens are lovely to walk through and you could spend quite a bit of time there. The downside, you are constantly hassled by vendors trying... More

Wow! I was very afraid to go on this, the views are beautiful. The garden is exotic. This is the perfect place for a small wedding. You can see the entire city. No one rushes you. You can stay up all day.

Did this as part of the city tour in the afternoon (would strongly advise to stay clear of the city tour) and it was amazing! The views are stunning, well worth the journey up, and the only thing I have to mention is when you get to the top and do the token poses like the statues, it's a shame... More

This was part of a city tour and next time I'm in Puerto Plata I would like to take this tour separately. Arrived & left the mountain in a cable car. Views were astounding & would like to have learned a little more about the history. I disliked being hounded by retailers to purchase their wares. I personally am more... More

This was a very uplifting to the soul tour, please ask for Peter for your tour and you will get your money's worth! He was very thorough and patient when we all wanted to take pictures and he stopped and enlightened us all on the native and imported plants and trees in the garden. It's up on top of a... More

This attraction is well worth the money spent. The tram ride to the top is incredibly steep and quite a thrill. The statue of Christ at the top is breathtaking. I'd go again in a heartbeat!

We had a good visit on April 6, 2013. It was clear going up in the cable car and clear when we got to the top. The view is spectacular. The garden trails are long and steep at times. If you have difficulty walking far or climbing stairs, it might be best to stroll around the monument area. After a... More

We went there by taxi. Our driver informed us that we could have a guide who works for tips which we had no problem with. He told us about the plant life and everything that we could see as the cable car took us to the top of the mountain. The view was amazing. To go from sea level and... More
