Included in this tour was a tour of the rum distillery bottling section, city tour including shopping and a visit through the Church of San Filipe (sculptured altars and 10 or more stained glass scenes - awesome.) The cable car itself showed us breathtaking views of the city and coastline of Puerto Plata as it climbed Mount Isabel de Torres.... More

Ok, first off, I don't want to scare anyone who is planning on going up the cable car. This was my experience, and I gather it doesn't happen often. We were on a city tour, which I had chosen because I really wanted to take the cable car up to Mt Torres. My girlfriend isn't a fan of heights and... More

This tour includes a city tour, rum distillery tour, a cable car ride up the mountain side and a great history of Puerto Plata. I really enjoyed it not so much the kid though!

The tour guides really watch out for you, making sure you are okay at all times. The view from the cable car was stunning. You definitely need to be okay with hights for this one. It was a very stable cable, great sights!

We did this excursion and it was worth every penny. What I will tell you is this...our west jet tour rep tried to rip us off. If you can get a group of 5 people this trip can cost you as little as 20 USD. We had a tour guide with us Frank that took us to the cable car...... More

A tour guide told us we could only see everything at the top if we went with him. That's not true, Signs are posted explaining where to go. We did tell him to show us around, and he directed us and took all our pictures and we gave him a tip. He showed us the fruits growing on the trees... More

Definitely worth doing. Once again do it yourself as it is cheaper to do via a taxi and buying your ticket at the cable car itself. You will need about 2 hours
