A must see, try posing for a picture in front of the statue on the lower ground with hands reached up and cupped. it will look as if you are actually hanging from it

Got up there in brilliant sunshine and by the time it was time to come down this 2nd highest peak in the Caribbean it was through a cloud layer which you couldn't see the cable through. Amazing place with superb views

Visit early in the day as clouds build up with the heat by around midday on many days and you can no longer enjoy the vista.

Cable car to the top is an experience in itself. So quick and amazing how steep some of the incline was. Once at the top there are shops who do expect you to go in and look around. One of the shopkeepers came out and helped me and my family take the 'usual' tourist photos with the statue.

This visit was part of a city tour that we took. We went early in the morning since the cable car only holds 20 people at a time. At the top you will get a great scenic view of Puerto Plata and their are locals that will take pictures of you with your cameral of the Statue for a $1... More

Incredible views from the top, but don't waste your time looking for the cave or lagoon - the cave is basically a big hole, and the lagoon is a cement pool. The only redeeming quality of either is the beautiful walk through the jungle. Also, fair warning: the people at the store are pretty aggressive (moreso than any other salesman,... More

The views were great and any photographer would have a field day at this site. The cable car system is well managed and operated in a safe manner, the views during the ride are also very interesting.

Great trip. On a clear day you can see for miles. Cable car is amazing and the botanical gardens at the summit a treat. Well worth a visit.
