nothing really too exceptional to say about the fort. unless i missed something there was only 3 indoor rooms. the central area, the weapons room and the torture chamber. there were guides thre to tell stories and give you some of the fort history. just by the natural purpose of the fort it does allow for some really pretty and... more

wonderful to see this historic fort still standing. The blind gentleman who provided history of the fort was phenomemal. The tour guide was excellent, especially when discribing the torture room. Must see! more

The fort is impressive because it is still standing. It is one of the first forts built here in the "New World" by landing Europeans. Inside you will find cannon balls of various sizes, rusted bayonets and some early weapons. And thats it. Its just a brick building with a good view of the water. The Fort was beautiful to see. The view of the Atlantic Ocean is breath taking. There are old canons, guns, and so many other weapons the men used when at war. The 439 year old fort is one stop you'll have to make when you go to Puerto Plata. more
