interesting place

very nice and very very interesting. Only downfall was the bathrooms which need a major overall. Best thing we learned was how they were attached to Jurassic Park..lol

This is definitely not a day out. You can probably get round the museum in 10 minutes. It may not be my cup of tea but could be to some people!

What a piece of historic visions. See the jurassic insects in the jewels. Small but very well laid out. The items caught and preserved in the amber is brilliant.

A group of us stopped in as a part of a city tour. I had no knowledge of amber so it was quite interesting to see how it is gathered and utilized. Many small preserved items on display which hold rich history about the country. See amber preserved animals, items from Taino existence, and pieces of volcanic residue. The guide... More

This was part of our city tour. Would say there needs to be updates to the museum, but there was a lot to be learned!

I thought it was very interesting and learned a lot about the history in Dominican Republic. You can learn about amber, cigar making, and sample Mamajuana.

liked to see how things were made, didn't like how you were followed around and hassled to purchase but I did purchase a lovely pendant of half Amber and Half Larimar. \barter and you will get a good deal!

It was interesting to learn about amber mining in DR and see the various samples. Mostly though they try to get you to buy overpriced jewelry.

this was a small museum that seemed just thrown together with no real thought behind it. The shops attached to it were much bigger and seemed to be the main purpose for the museum.

tour guides only wanted your money...interesting to see some of the amber but not worth the hassle of tipping every person you see...making the cigars was fun but again the operators were very pushy and greedy.
