The building itself is so lovely, but the museum could use some updates. The displays had some lights out and some parts were in disrepair. This may lead the viewer to question the validity of the facts.

This was a thinly-disguised shopping trip. We had about 5 minutes to look at some samples of amber with insects imbedded in them, then were steered out the door to the store. I love jewelry as much as the next person, but don't call it a museum!

We thought it was pretty cool seeing the different kinds of bugs that were in the pieces of Amber. there were also a lot of sovereigns to buy for a good price.

This small, air-conditioned museum has many exhibits with plants and creatures captured inside large amber pieces. There is a jewelry and gift shop on site.

Very short tour in a very small museum. Maybe 5 min talk, 5 min walk trough. Large amber jewelry store in back. Guide held out a basket of tips. Typical. Bathrooms not clean. This was included on the city tour

Another place where people just rely on tips. So it is better to read info and get any questions answer by the locals. Flora fauna is described very well on wall displays.

It's interesting to see where the varieties of amber came from and of course there is a lot of shopping for jewelry available in the lobby. If you step outside the front door, a lot of street vendors will approach(!) you as well.

This was one stop on our city tour. Very small but interesting. Try to avoid the guys at the end who pressure sell you on the jewelry. If you are going to buy Amber the prices are ok from what I heard.
