The ticket is almost free, 20 Dominican pesos, less than a dollar. Is a regular size, but different area. Its true is getting old, the is why they always remodeling. But the central corridor with the sharks, barracudas, and other big specimens is really amazing specially for the kids. Also the collection of horse sea, and the coral reef is... More

Outdoor aquarium adjacent to the ocean. Nice view/scenery of the ocean, great for sitting on the bench and enjoying the outdoors. Small aquarium that provided something to do to kill some time-nothing spectacular.

On a recent missions trip we took a group of kids from a very poor barrios to the aquarium. Each group gets led through the aquarium by a tour guide. Our guide was fun and informative. But even without the guide the kids were mesmerized by all the fish on display. They especially liked seeing the diver in the huge... More

My family visited this aquarium in January 2014, and have to give our honest opinion. It lacked care and cleanliness. The water in the tanks was not clear and several displays were not functioning. We did not stay long. Hopefully the operators are aware of the situation and improve the conditions soon for the existing specimens.

For the Dominican Republic, this aquarium is quite nice. From a world class standpoint or from the point of view of appropriate animal care, it leaves much to be desired. The space available for the sea turtles is heartbreaking. The layout is nice and comfortable (for the humans) with a fair number of exhibits. It was constructed to be a... More

The aquarium itself is pretty simple and not particularly worthwhile, but there's a big garden on the back where you can get a great view of the Caribbean and the city of Santo Domingo that makes the trip worthwhile, if you have a couple of hours to spare.

Good for kids. A bit boring for adults. It's just a lot of aquariums with fish. They did have some rays and nurse sharks.

Even if I come from an island with so much fish species I still enjoy the fish in this big aquarium. I've even been to the Ocean World Adventure park and it's a must to go seeing and do a dolphin program.(Puerto Plata)

I went in September 2010. There aren't many fish or anything but the admission is cheap. It is still amusing. The sight is to die for though. It is located on a cliff and you can see the gorgeous & turquoise sea. If staying in Santo Domingo, you should definitely go to the aquarium.
