During our stay in Santo Domingo, we sat in the park a few times. It's peaceful with the broad shade trees. Many citizens sat in the park and just enjoyed the day. beautiful park with statue of Christopher Columbus. Very clean and full of people which is uncommon for Santo Domingo (the clean part) seen many girls getting having photo shoots for their BIG 15th birthday here durring our trip. More

Spent time learning about the history in the park. Great place to spend the afternoon with the family. The locals play music and dance making you feel welcome. More

A mix of local flavor and tourist attractions. Great place to sit at a cafe with cup of cafe con leche or glass of Presidente cerveza and watch the Dominicans play with their children, greet each other, appreciate their music, and care about each other More

It is where you should go late afternoon when it is not so warm , seat on a bench and read EL NACIONAL newspaper watching people around . I did not like the statue in the middle of the square ... it represents COLON , and at his feet the queen Taino Anacaonda , who at age 40 was hanged... More

It is a nice walk around the colonial zone. There are some very good restaraunts around the square. I have been to the one with a sign of pirates (do not remember the name). It is delicious! More
