I went with a large group of persons to this attraction, and my experience was not that great. For one thing the rooms were small and the group had to cram inside to be able to see and hear the what the guide was talking about. The guide's english was not very good so understanding him properly was a problem... More

I loved the arched style of this building. I believe it was built in the 1500's and was used as the governors home. There are a lot of historical artifacts inside. It's a great place to take photos, right next to the river Ozama. Make sure you eat dinner at one of the restaurants across the way. This site looks... More

This place is amazing, is unbelivable that one Christopher Columbus son lived here. The history on this place is interesting. More

There is very little information on the exhibits. There was garbage strewn about the grounds. They cut into the walls and floors to run wiring for security, phone, etc. and did very poor quality repairs. I love museums and historical buildings. I was very disappointed. More

The viceregal building was originally the home of Diego Columbus and his family. It is chocked full of many artifacts and antiques. The tour guides were exceptional and did a very good job of explaining the exhibits and answering questions. We were also provided with headsets. The view from the balconies is spectacular. This house belonged to Christopher Columbus's eldest son Diego and his wife Maria. It was built in 1510. There are 22 rooms from the original 55. This was our second visit. Our guide had a lot of knowledge of the rooms and artifacts. More

The Dominican Republic is an interesting place. I loved their courtesy and I was surprised by their pride in their Country. I have visited Little Haiti in Santo Domingo, and I got a glimpse of the poverty that lies just outside the border. The Christopher Columbus house and artifacts were very interesting and the nature is splendid. More

We visited here on 19th November 2008 as part of a Santo Domingo Tour. The price was included within the excursion cost although it was cheap to visit on its own. It is a wonderful place to visit, the building itself is situated in a convenient location and has wonderful views from the balconies. The tour guides are all very... More
