I went to the lighthouse when new and now 16 year later it’s somehow weathered needing some paint but the place is a nice stop on your Santo Domingo tour if you like architecture and monuments. When I went to see this monument it looked like it was in great disrepair and looked rather gritty. I noticed this with other monuments in Santo Domingo. This is a gigantic lighthouse / museum in honor of Christopher Columbus. Only a dictator could have accomplished such a feat ! It is so big- you will laugh!!!!
