Probably the best preserved colonial street with nice buildings of various periods. It is essentially the very heart od the Old City
This lovingly preserved/restored street gives you a glimpse of the history of Santo Domingo. One can imagine horsedrawn carriages going down this street and people out for a stroll. Several museums are on this street, too.
In this clean and charming street you can find the best places to visit. Fortaleza (castle) Hostal Nicolas de Ovando ( best hotel in town). You can have a drink at the bar beside the swimming pool. Pantheon Casa reales (museum explaing tje history of the city) Alcazar (Colon house) The street not to be missed !!!
I have visited this place so many times before, I can say I don´t get tired of visiting. It is great and beautiful place to know the history of Dominican Republic and near there is Ozama fortress a lovely place to take pictures of the coloni
It's sort of hard to miss Calle de Las Damas while visiting Santo Domingo, as it is the oldest street as well as one of the most visited! Good place to stay at night, full of amusements & restaurants nearby, italian restaurant as well. Close to the Cristoforo Colombo's house. You must go there if you go Santo Domingo, such a good atmosphere
call like these because all the maids from the Spanish will walk thru here is a very historical place a must see and hears about the story of DR and all the other atractions are around this street
