A Paradise

This place can be described as just a paradise on earth. It is a very well preserved National Park in the west coast of the island, very close to Haiti. Breathtaking beach!!!

Although the last few kilometers are on a somewhat bumpy, unpaved road (4-wheel drive not necessary, however), this is a gorgeous part of the DR, and if you're in the southwest of the country, a must-see. Arrange for a boat, usually with another half dozen or so other passengers. The short ride to the beach along the rocky cliffs and... More

Unbelievable gorgeous white sandy beach. Crystal clear water. So beautiful and enchanting that it feels sacred. On another note: there are restaurants at the entrance of Bahia Aguilas, in Las Cueva. DO NOT eat at Rancho Tipico...it's a tourist trap. Patron the small comedors instead. They have much better, freshly prepared food at lower prices.

Really a paradise beach. There is nothing there but few trash cans. We went to the beach by boat some views are beautiful, but not worth the price (2000 pesos for 1 to 5 person)! We arrive around 10:00AM and we was alone for nearly one hour! We was as in a deserte island - a real dream! During the... More

Bahia de las Aguilas is a gem. The water is clear and a beautiful turquoise. The white sand beach is clean and untouched. We went on a Sunday in mid-March, and we had a segment to ourselves. This is the definition of paradise. We were able to get a private tour from a Spanish couple. They were able to let... More

Another great place to check off the Bucket list!!! Bahia de las Aguilas (Translation: Eagle's Bay) is one of the most beautiful beach on the entire planet!!! It's one of Dominican Republic's untapped beaches. The water is so clear. Holidays (Christmas & Easter) are the peak times. Best time to go after January 1st and anytime after Easter. A must... Not sure when the rule changed, but there is no longer overnight camping at Bahia de las Aguilas. There is camping and parking at nearby La Cueva. This is the last practical area with food, clean water, and restrooms. While the signs and guidebooks all say camping is allowed, we were kicked out at night and hiked the ~4km back... More

Was a bit crowded for Christmas week--didn't quite have the same feel of an uninhabited or special place in nature. Not good if you are clamoring for the limited shade of the mangrove trees, or if the trash pails are overfilled, spilling on to the sand. I bet any other week we would have not seen very many others, but... More

Best Beach ever!!! You can ask for Santiago Rodríguez in Rancho Bahía de Las Aguilas, Cabo Rojo. He will do the best to offer you the best day of your life.
