I highly recommend this beautiful beach to anyone visiting the south of the Dominocan Republic or who ever wants to see what a pristine and undeveloped beach looks like. I recommend to get there by boat. Also, bring beach umbrellas camping tents or anything that will protect you from the desert sun. *There are no tall trees there. There's no... More

To start, the road to it is just as enjoyable for me. Is so different since I am used to see the green of the North of the island but the desertic escene attracts my eye incredible and everything turns into a perfect background. Once in the beach, it just gets better. We went through boat and is safe to... More

Bahia de las Aguilas is a true paradise. We drove there from Santiago which took almost 10 hours despite making 3 short 15min stops along the way. After crossing Barahona we drove along the coastline for 2-3 hours. Watch out for the random cows and horses inadvertently crossing the street. There aren't any luxury hotels after leaving Barahona. We stayed at... More

Don't bother with a tour unless you don't have a car. You can get there yourself by car or arrive and hire a boat once there.

We loved the trip. If you can afford it... make sure you request the VIP package, which gets you to a deserted area of the beach, with some shade, a table and chairs. Otherwise, if you go over a long weekend get ready to be in a crowded, sunny and shadeless paradise.

We enjoyed our time to at the beach but according to many Dominicans, it is the nicest beach on the island, by far. I don't agree with that but it is nice and the snorkeling was pretty good. Keep in mind that you will need to take a boat over to the beach because it is all but impossible by... More

This place can be described as just a paradise on earth. It is a very well preserved National Park in the west coast of the island, very close to Haiti. Breathtaking beach!!!

Although the last few kilometers are on a somewhat bumpy, unpaved road (4-wheel drive not necessary, however), this is a gorgeous part of the DR, and if you're in the southwest of the country, a must-see. Arrange for a boat, usually with another half dozen or so other passengers. The short ride to the beach along the rocky cliffs and... More

Unbelievable gorgeous white sandy beach. Crystal clear water. So beautiful and enchanting that it feels sacred. On another note: there are restaurants at the entrance of Bahia Aguilas, in Las Cueva. DO NOT eat at Rancho Tipico...it's a tourist trap. Patron the small comedors instead. They have much better, freshly prepared food at lower prices.
