Well, we did not make it to the top. It was our first full day in Dominica and we were totally not acclimated to the new climate and its hydration needs. Granted he was in tip top shape! 3 twenty somethings and a grandpa conquered this mountain on the 30th of August, 2005. the start is quite normal, fairly steep climb from the beginning through high forest, accompanied by wonderful birdsong ( mountainwhistler) But than ! I've hiked many of Dominica's mountains, and this is one of the hardest. Like most of them, it's a stiff 2/3 hour hike straight up.
