Doesn't look like much from the outside but glad we went for a hike. (need running shoes, I wore flipflops, big mistake) really neat to see, worth the $$, glad we went.

This is an unadvertised beautiful hike. You can take the tourist double decker bus there. It is a close walk to the Ambrosio caves so worth doing both in the same afternoon. Wear good shoes as the ground is very uneven and sharp. We did the hike with our 13 year old and 8 year old. They enjoyed it as... More

What a wonderful way to spend an hour..or two or three. This self guided walk through an ecological reserve is bliss for nature freaks. At $5 CUC per person ($1 CUC for your local Cuban friends), you are given a map which provides a few sentences detailing what you see along the trail. It takes about an hour to walk,... More

The park was very low key. You pace yourself with the map and take as long as you want at each spot. I came with my driver, and they did not charge him the 5cuc entrance. A real treat was having a cold frost beer with the concession guy. He had a great attitude and sense of humor. Cheap beer,... More

A nice half an hour swim with two dolphins in a nice lagoon with other 6 people. After that there is a half an hour show. Very ngood way to spend the afternoon. You can take the topless bus which stops right at the door or buy a package from your hotel. It was 5 pesos (CAD 5.50) for the... More

Not a lot of shade, an easy hike along a narrow trail. At one point there's some 3000 year old human remains you can check out. Just careful of the bee hives. There's about four of them in the rocks at one point and you are forced to pass by less than a foot away.

Good way to spend an hr. 5 cuc per person. You are given a map with some information. Wear a decent pair of shoes. I wouldn't suggest flip flops or sandals of any sorts. Bring bug spray. We saw lots of lizards. Lots of different kinds of plants. A few caves. It's about a mile long. Easy terrain. Ur not... More

Our hotel, Memories Varadero, was located close to a section of the Varahicacos Ecological Reserve that has a small interpretive centre and nature trails. We were able to walk there in 20 minutes, but the site is readily accessible from the double-decker tour buses that ply the Varadero Peninsula. There is a charge of 5 CUC per person to enter... Everything was nice and comfortable, The only thing that I didn't like is that air conditioning was not working very well, besides that everything was perfect.

Although are excursion was a little rushed we loved the crocodile farm and speed boat ride to the authentic village which we were left a little disappointed with You walked through a traditional warrior house greeted had paint daubbed on your face then had to hand some money over!
