Not a bad course but very expensive if you're not at a Melia Hotel

This was course #556 since I started playing this wonderful game 55 years ago. Golf can be a little different in the Caribbean in terms of course conditions. Some courses can be splendid; others can be in really rough shape. I was advised by three of the pros at my home course that Varadero was a nice layout and generally... More

This is an enjoyable course to play. It is interesting and well-designed by Les Furber, and currently in quite good shape despite the lack of water in the dry season. Upgrades to the cart paths are coming, they told us. The hazards are visible and avoidable except for a few forced carries that will frustrate some novice players, and in... More

This course is picture perfect! It's well maintained, the starter does a nice job pairing people up and keeping folks spaced out, and a nice mix of hole types. Our only complaint would be the long line at the beginning of the day, even for people who booked in advance. The people at the desk were incredibly inefficient and not... More

I played several times that golf course in years passed, the golf course in the best shape I ever saw it, but weekend greens are slow because they cut them during the week. the Cuban are always looking to find a way to make more money, now they charge you money to keep your bag, but it is good for... The greens are perfect, the fairways are in good shapes and the type of holes that they have are challenging holes, easy holes and risk reward holes.

We came to the Golf course area to see the beautiful house that the Dupont's built back in the 1920's. It seems no expense was spared in the building of this house back in the day. Many rooms lavishly furnished and of course that view from the bar on the top floor. You have to see it for your self.

This is a wonderful course. We struggled to book prior to arriving in Cuba. Once there we were able to book 4 rounds and once we played the first we were able to add a few more rounds then cancelled others. Carts are mandatory at $33 pesos per person and could use some repairs but they did save us from... More

Golf was free with our bungalow at Melia Las Americas, so I thought I would give it a try, though I had to play alone and didn't bring my clubs. First, the mandatory cart was 33 CUC EACH person, a rip off (I later learned that there is an under the table system that will save you about 20 CUC... More

Well maintained course with some good challenges. Clubs on hire were good quality and looked pretty new. Buggy supplied was very necessary as large distances between holes. A bit disorganised on reception, almost ignored by two females in the club hire area.

This is a reasonable course but the staff you check in with lack any customer skills, it takes about 30 mins to get sorted with your registration, the caddy master was good though knew his business and was helpful shame the girls in the shop were not more like him. Buggies are really old with ripped seats, don't expect any... More
