Cool jazz in Havana

This was a great evening out in Havana. We went mid-week and enjoying a nice mix of vocalists and instrumentals. Great cocktails and food also.

Entrance for 10 CUC with 2 drinks included. Not a big club but the evening was very nice. Very good jazz music starting fromm 11 pm. If you are in Havana you have to go there.

We went to the Jazz Cafe on a weeknight and saw a trio featuring Cesar Lopez on sax. Fantastic small venue to hear music. Fantastic group. Had the opportunity to chat with the band at the end and buy a CD or DVD. A really great experience. Also some interesting art-sculptures and paintings.

We arrived early and had dinner. It was an ok meal with no real highlights, but as Cuban food is, it was tasty but only lightly seasoned. Service was good. The first act was 5 women with lots of harmony performing some originals and mostly covers with a motown feel. They were good. The following act was incredible. Keyboard, Bass... More

If you like Jazz you must visit this cafe at least once during your visit to Havana. Jazz cafe is just opposite Cohiba Melia and safe to walk cross or you can arrive there by taxi. They have live musiz every night. Different groups play good music. Food is reasonable priced but drinks are little bit pricey. All and all... More

We stumbled across this place after sitting in Cafe Paris, the band finished and in broken Spanish managed to ask a taxi driver to take us somewhere to dance. After a high speed taxi ride in one of Cuba's vast classic cars we arrived here. Cover charge was a bit steep and drinks a touch pricey but band was fantastic... More

Music was fantastic. The staff was rude. Food and service was terrible. The AC is freezing, the room is very big and the atmosphere is quite cold when there are few people. In a nutshell, not friendly, and above all not clean. If you go for the music which was great (even if it was way too loud), stick to... More
