It is a very long boulevard next to the water where the local people hang out to meet up with their friends and family.

Concrete wall that holds back the ocean. Well most the time as waves splash over if windy. Views are great. Looks run down but in the evenings and holidays it a magnet for the locals and has lot of character. Walk down the male on in the evening near sunset.

Lots of old buildings slowly disintegrating line this sea-side boulevard. Its a favoured meeting spot for locals on a Friday night when you'll see hundreds sitting on the sea wall. Us the T-1 bus to drive alone it. Otherwise don't go out of your way to see it.

After reading so much about El Malecon before my visit, I was disappointed at what I encountered. As well as taking a tour bus ride along it, I also walked a considerable part of it. Small parts of it were okay, but overall it is very dowdy.

Had some serious deja vu from driver 2 (a computer game I used to play). Great place to walk in the sun or at night. Beware random friendly couples trying to take you so 'amazing' bars and restaurants near-by!

During the day the Malecon is lined with locals fishing which makes it a very pleasant stroll, at night it is lined with young people who met up in groups and not the most welcoming place to take a romantic stroll.

havana malecon is a place where you will find friend, boyfriend or just have fun, hang out in a big way. a place to remember. Just be careful, because there are some bad people.

There is nothing like Havana's Malecon. At night, as the sun goes down and then until 2 am. Especially Fri and Sat nights. Lovers, families, fisherman, musicians, hordes of young people (well behaved), food, rum, everyone feeling the love and the hunger that seem to pervade Cuba these days. Feels like the whole city comes out to just be together.... More

This looks lovely to walk along but be warned the ground is in a very poor state and likely to rip your shoes to shreds in some parts. Extremely uncomfortable to walk along, best viewed as you drive past
