I Love this place. I used to go everyday along the Malecon street. It's beautiful the sea, even when it's a rainy day, or if the sea is furious. At night you can seat there and enjoy the breeze and young people having a conversation or someone playing the guitar. I really love it.

Here you can meet people, listen tradicional music, share and sometimes dance with cubans. Just take care about your money ,not to be too drunk..., but don t worry i ve never seen people stoled with violence.

Worth the walk to take in the young Cubans enjoying romance, partying and social life on the street. By day safe but beware of the cigar butts and a few homeless.

You can walk the Malecon any night of the week and people will be lined along the seawall. Saturday night is best night as thousands of people gather in the evening.

You can walk as long as you like along this grand boulevard. There are monuments, hotels and bars that dot the course, so you can meander as long as you want to or see only some particular things. I would recommend the USS Maine monument and the Hotel Nacional to stop in and visit. The new US embassy is along... More

Waves breaking over the sea wall - where Cubans go to walk, sit, chat, romance. Beautiful Atlantic Ocean view.

Take a stroll up towards centro havana along the malecon and take pics of the alleys, a true reflection of how delapitated the buildings in havana really are. Also watch the locals fishing, mind your head!

This is a very popular place for both tourists and locals. During the day, you will find locals posted up- chit-chatting and people watching. During the night, you will find many locals with groups of friends- with a bottle of Havana Ron, drinking and of course people-watching. It's really relaxing and safe. There are a lot of prostitutes around this... More

Because this land mark is mentioned in all the books and stories I've read about in Cuba, you must see it and how it's a focal point for tourists but more a meeting place for locals.

If you visit Havana probably you will be here at some point. The views are nice, and is a relaxing place for locals, although if you are a tourist you can be overwhelmed by the attention. It could do with some refurbishment in the pedestrian area, as it is pretty uneven. Additionally the noise from the traffic lines going along... More
