Despite the other cultural differences, when it comes to arts you will find many similarities; or maybe even better you will not find any differences :) You should get the combined ticket for art cubanos and the general one. It's worth it and you can spend as much time as you can imagine. When it comes to world arts, you... More

My wife is the artist in the family, and i was dragged along. Spacious museum, well-laid out, much to see and do. We took a couple of hours and didn't see it all. Even as a non-art afficionado, I was intrigued by the exhibits.

The two parts of the museum are within close walking distance of one another. The buildings themselves are beautiful, spacious and for those of us who visited in August, provide some very welcome air conditioning! The art collections are extensive in both style and era so will suit anyone's taste, I personally really liked some of the contemporary art, some... More

I like their collections especially paintings of Wilredo Lam, Mariano Rodriguez, Carlos Enriquez, Augusto Menocal and Manuel Vega. The only downside is its opening hours which ended on 2 PM, I can't fully enjoy the arts while regularly looking at my watch.

There are two buildings -one housing the Cuban collection and the other the International collection. My daughter and I liked aspects of both and we both appreciated the air conditioning in the modern structure housing the Cuban art. The contemporary Cuban collection was my personal favourite, with a lot of work influenced by the revolution and African culture, whereas my... More

The building itself is an architectural gem, is splendorous, the inside illumination is not good, during late hours, during mid day is a must see the roof vitro, impressive.

So much to see in Havana in a limited time but this also gives a different aspect to life and culture rather than just seeing old buildings and plazas.

Completely refurbished in reopened in July 2001, this museum does not seem to be part of Cuban life and is a reflection of the government's continuous investment in art and culture that should make American's question our own priorities. That said, the museum has not changed a single painting since they were originally purchased and hung for the opening. Beautifully... More

The Air Conditioning makes this stop well worth your while. We enjoyed the fountains, and the collection is well worth a visit.
