Not too much hear, nice view of the church. En route to a very large market on the water, past the train station.

Cuba is like no other Caribbean nation I've seen. There stands a centuries old church across the plaza from a beautiful modern sculpture. The contrast everywhere is remarkable and this was the first place we stopped for a minute. It was a prophetic beginning.

It was only 2 or 3 CUC pp to enter and we'll worth the money for a view up the bell tower overlooking the square, buildings and over the waters to the fort, el morro, Christ statue across the water, stock exchange building and other side to the arts and crafts area water front which is south.

This is a must-see plaza. If you're not familiar with the area you may miss it and it would be a shame. This is a lovely, quiet square with a very good hotel, a great restaurant and a very nice cafeteria! Also the stock exchange and the convent are there. Opposite the ferry terminal and the car rental offices.

The church is located at the entrance of the Old Habana town and the whole area is kept very clean and there are many shops and good restaurants and bars.

Easily missed but very worthwhile. There is always a little breeze blowing because it is close to the port. Beautiful with areas to sit down and picture takings are a must. On the convent side, there is a statue of Mother Teresa and a lovely garden when it is open.
