Well worth a visit

Certainly should be seen as you walk around the old town. Stop for a cooling drink for a few minutes at a cafe and watch the world go by.

Not only did I enter the Old Havana neighborhood from this plaza but so did most of the world. With Havana's sea port across from this plaza, you can imagine what a glorious past it must have been. Once again the derelict buildings around the plaza only add to the charm of Old Havana!

Well another good visit, and undertaken on a day visiting all four plazas in the old town. Again good picture opportunities as so much of the old town is.

A great place to sit and have coffee (or rum) and watch the word go by. Great views ranging from ancient architecture to modern art.

The church and square are gorgeous. But usefully, it also has a great restaurant, is the perfect place to catch a cab, has a Cadeca to exchange money, and a sales agent for tourist activities such as tobacco factory tours and other outings. A beautiful cover for a really practical and useful spot.

This square is beautiful. I actually prefer this better than Plaza de la Catedral. This square has the church of San Francisco de Asis or Basilica Menor. This building has the tallest tower in Old Havana and is open to the public. The view from up there is simply breathtaking.

Asis Square has a former convent which is now a museum. The square is not particularly interesting; there appear to be no restaurants on the square and nothing of particular interest

Great place to visit and get out of the heat. The woman who took care of the church gave us a private tour of the church and showed us some spectacular pieces of art.

This is a beautiful, well-preserved square with a large Fountain of Lions in the center. At the time of our visit, there was a lively and fun exhibit called Buddy Bears, sponsored by the Art of Tolerance. It was visited by Cubans and tourists, with the cigar-smoking Cuban bear being the most popular for photos. This square is just across... More
