The Cathedral is just breathtaking and the restaurants around the square and the music and the night life a gathering spot not to be missed in Havana.

Its nice. Whilst holidaying abroad, every city has its old cathedral to visit. Best to go on Sunday around 11am to see the cathedral in action during the Sunday service, and hear the beautiful singing.

This place cannot be beaten for architecture. Unlike many churches/cathedrals you are encouraged to take photos, just put a donation in one of the many boxes and there are very few shrines off limits. Stunning building, currently undergoing an outside makeover the stained glass windows were being taken out with not much care when we visited.

One of the quietest and most impressive of the 4 big squares in Old Havana. It would be perfect if not for the drivers constantly approaching you. The cathedral is gorgeous. I can't think of a single reason not to visit this square.

The sense of history really hits you when you stare up at this magnificent building. The square is quiet and is a fitting setting for this magnificent piece of architecture.

Must see it, if you are in Havana, beautiful architectural. Local people will ask to give money or anything, you only have to say NO GRACIAS and they will not bother you anymore. Also ladies dressed in customs will ask to take a picture with her, but you have to pay, always ask how much before you agree to take... More

Beautiful buildings. Fab co-op type craft shop full of amazing items to enjoy! Plenty of action and animation in the square. A few good resto there too....can't remember their names, but a bit pricey. Lovely colonial museum to visit

We went at night and had dinner at Dona Eutimia (recommend!). But felt totally safe and quiet there. Very pretty at night.

You get the sense of the importance of the place with the well crafted stone buildings and the Havana Cathedral. Some good restaurants in this area too. Looks amazing with night lighting.
