this square in the heart of old town is worth a visit. the old buildings are architectural beauties. good restaurants are nearby and yes, the sounds of cuban music are filtering into this square from several joints steps away. the cathedral needs to be washed to restore some of its luster and beauty.

Like most places in Havana it is in a state of decay, but it has some beautiful wood altars and some interesting sculptures.

My review is under the Havana Cathedral. A lot of the places are the same but with different names. Makes the reviews a bit off.

The flow the depth of every details, the porous stone. Really simple inside yet beautiful.Perhaps once restoration cleans the mold its true beauty will shine. The square really gives a beautiful spot to get a very good perspective

The Cathedral is amazing! One of the oldest buildings in Havana. Inside you'll see the lovely paintings and beautifully preserved religious items. In the far back left there is a separate little chapel for those who really want to sit a moment to pray, meditate or just take in all the wonder of Havana. The sign on the door says... More

This area is a bit touristy, but it is a nice visit all the same. There are old, dressed up women who take payment for pictures and often a very good band hanging around or the afternoon. Worth a look-see or sure.

Unfortunately you cannot go into the Cathedral but the Plaza has gorgeous buildings, restaurants, a museum and probably the most charming in Havana.

The architecture of this church is spectacular - google to find out why the two towers are different sizes! Highly recommend taking a tour of it! The Cuban government is working hard to preserve the beautiful buildings in Old Havana - although what a huge job it is!
