A wonderful old building; even if you are not religious, it is worth a visit to appreciate the splendid architecture of this period.

The cathedral is beautiful. Pay only 1 CUC pp to climb up top to the bell tower. So many bells here. Great view of the entire square here. Not many people know about this as it looks like it is roped off inside the church. Access on the right side on entry into the church.

It seems the architecture in Havana gets older as you venture into this quarter. Before that, it was Spanish colonial or art deco, but when I arrived in this square and saw this heavy looking massive edifice, I knew time had skipped back another period. Having said that, I cannot claim to be a fan of baroque, but there was... More

Such a beautiful building, the cathedral is a must see when in Havana, even if your not religious it is worth looking at to see the history of the building and the artwork inside There is a separate chamber for prayer which is very peaceful Free to enter but donations are welcome

Well its a small square with outside bar, some small shops, the cathedral that does not really allow you to go inside (during rain) with its two different towers and one important thing if you plan to rent a car for Cuba. There is a guy without one leg selling CDs of Cuban music. This is my apology to this... More

I really wasn't impressed, because I ahve seen so many other cathedrals elsewhere. This one comes across as cold and not very interesting. I love going into cathedrals where ever I go and usually come away with a spritual feeling, but this one leaves me cold.

The cathedral is much more exciting what you saw from the pictures. It is stunning. Go inside the cathedral, have a drink at the cafe bar next to the cathedral, watch the magnifient building, shop around. It's just great!

Well worth a visit. Also took an impromptu horse and cart ride offered by a polite but persistent guy outside the cathedral. We had a very enjoyable hour for 20cuc plus tip!

Surely in the "not to be missed" list for sightseeing in Havana. Always interesting and beautiful. Love the music sounds and the people milling around. If you speak Spanish, get your future "read" by Juana la Cubana, the santera lady that hold court across from Catedral. Quite the experience (not that she actually can read the future, though). :-)
