It's a unique, beautiful place, very romantic, in Havana Vieja with marvellous buildings of the 18th century all around and the Catedral San Cristobal. We had dinner at the PATIO restaurant in one of the old palaces of the square with good food, fantastic daiquiri and a view to the square. Best time to visit the square is a night,... More

Plaza de la Catedral is in the old Havana area, a square plaza surrounded by the beautiful baroque Cathedral de San Cristobal and other beautiful colonial buildings. Adjacent to the cathedral, in the building on the left corner of the square, you will have the opportunity to visit and appreciate outstanding contemporary art for free.

You can find lots of Spanish style buildings in Old Havana. These buildings give you a strong ambient of ancient European nostalgia. The square is designed very much similar to those open squares in other European cities. The only difference, which is quite important, is that it lacks of robustness of human activities. Maybe it takes time to flourish when... More

This was under construction when we came and it was really too hot to explore much. But if sight seeing is your thing, it would be worth a visit.

One of the highlights on our Cuban trip of Old Havana - the architecture, both inside and out is well worth the visit - the view from the top is spectacular - highly recommended.

Visited the place with a private guide, love the old architecture and the fact that we feel like 500 years ago. There is a lot of people around.

This cathedral was one of the biggest in those days in the whole of America, when people had no idea about huge mansions and buildings in the rest of the America.. very beautiful cathedral and the square has three other Buildings which belonged to some of the richest people of those times.. one is a museum and other is a... Our group had a guided walking tour of "Old Havana", never felt rushed nor crowded. No street beggars, very clean common areas. The architecture is impressive, however we all shared a bit of remorse for the crumbling infrastructure.
