beautiful place

Built in 1777. Beautiful Cathedral worth visiting. it is in the Old Havana, and it is close to some other cool places.

At the entrance to the square you are met by a man asking for money to take your picture with him and his donkey. That was theme for the whole square which distracts from the experience. You can walk into the foyer of the church but have to pay if you want to seat the interior. Restoration work is very... More

A calm, pretty plaza, attracts a lot of tourists but for a reason. It is so nice and surrounded by so many beautiful buildings in addition to the cathedral.

you just stand and soak up the atmosphere , there is a very large lady who sits under a sunshade and if you dare to point your camera at her she immediately covers her face until you part with your money .

The cathedral is beautiful and the plaza is lively both day and night time. The surrounding buildings are nicely restored.

A very old, poorly maintained cathedral, but typical of cuban architecture. Go there as part of a walking tour of the town.

Really loved Cuba. Walk around and find the tiny treasures hidden in its old houses. The area is surrounded by surprisingly good restaurants and nice views. Allow your self some ego boost with the native "piropos" and enjoy.

The Cathedral is beautiful as are the other buildings in the area of this historic square. There are some lovely restaurants in the area. However, it was difficult to enjoy due to the continual harassment by "tour guides" and others trying to get your money. I understand that people are just trying to make a living but a polite "no... We hired an english speaking taxi driver in veradero. he name is Hernan (aka Nacho). He took us on a history trip to Havana, explaining the local history along the way. One of our stops was this plaza. It is such a well preserved area. it was great to see.
