The beach was beautiful with golden sands, turquoise waters and palm trees. The place is very crowded with mainly locals which gives a great party atmosphere but not much good if you want quiet relaxation. DO NOT let ANYTHING you own out of your sight. My girlfriend left her bag slightly out of view. Half an hour later it was... More

This is a wonderful stretch of beach just minutes east of Havana (hence the "Playas del Este" monicker). Accessible from town via the $5Cuc all-day pass bus ride you can take at the stop on the west side of Parque Central, immediately across from the Hotel Inglaterra and Cafe Louvre. The beach is divided into 3 main general areas: Megano,... More

The beach was easily accessed because we were staying at the Hotel Tropicoco across the street. If you want to find Cubans at the beach then this is the place to come. The water is clear and the sand is nice. Our grandkids played for hours near the water. There is a little store not far where you can buy... More

This June/July I visited Cuba for the third time, and I'm still in love with Playa del Este, my favourite spot is las terrazas. The only bad thing is that the Cubans are not very good at picking up their garbage..

We went to tropicoco and to be honest I didn't like it that much. It was too crowed and there were no toilets so I guess people had to go to the bushes ... I hope.

We stayed at a villa on playas de este for one night and we were so disappointed. I'm not sure whether we just didn't see it in a good state, but it was incredibly windy (so much so that even though it was hot we couldn't bear to stay on the beach) and not beautiful at all. I would not... More

If you travel only to this beach in Cuba, you might get the wrong understanding of what Cuban beaches are about. Really does not worth a visit, unless you are duying from the heat and want to get your foot in water (which is also dirty). You do need to watch your belongings. No relaxation. Beds and umbrellas are 2... More
