...while it's quite true that the waters of Playas del Este are certainly delightful, he/she was NOT looking at the waters of the Caribbean as he/she indicated. It's amazing how often Cuba lovers get its basic geography wrong! The other points in the review are amazingly on point though and it makes for a delightful trip for all who are... More

There are different areas to go to the beach in Playas del Este and you will always have a great time, even though our trip was good I will prefer to go to Varadero, but the advantage is that it is closer to Havana.

The beaches near Havana are fantastic although can get bit crowded at weekends in summer. beautiful sand and surf with food and drinks brought to you from restaurants off beach when you want by friendly staff . umbrella and sun bed at 2cuc each per day. This is a great option instead of the all inclusive and you have the... More

Very nice beach located less than 20 minutes from Old Havana! The beach is clean! Cops are situated on the beach and outside the main entrance so it is very safe!

We were in Havana for a few days, and I couldn't stand the thought of being unable to at least stick my toes in Cuban sand. Made arrangements with a taxi driver to take us there and drop us off for half an hour. I don't know how long the beach is; the taxi driver dropped us in front of... More

We stayed in Havana for a week and on 2 days took trips to this beach. It makes way more sense to go out here - only 30 mins away, than to drive 2 hours to the plush resorts on Varadero beach. Playas de Este are the beaches that the locals use. It doesn't have all the fantastic facilities that... More

We spent 6 weeks in Cuba and saw several beaches during this time (Trinidad, Varadero, Cayo Largo), but the Playa de Este was our unsurpassed highlight. We actually took photos of the beach which look as if they were edited, because they look almost too good to be true. Sadly, this was the first beach we went to, thus we... More

Amazing beach, had more locals than tourists. Local food and drink which was cheap. Shade from either palm trees or little palm leaf leantos. Beautiful clean blue sea and lovely white sand.
