Several years since we were here and couldn't go inside back then either. The facade is really nice and the architecture is great. Great spot to get some photos and check out the old vehicles. Had to be mindful of aggressive beggars here as the tours drop tourists here by the bus load, and they were plentiful.

El Capitolio was being restored at this time but anyway you can have a look from outside which is quite interesting building.

Use the capitol as a reference point if you get lost. All the locals can point you in its direction and you can get your bearings from there.

Looks like Capitol hill in Washington. Looks good from a distance. Not possible to visit at the moment as it is being renovated

We have stayed in the beautiful hotel Iberostar Parque so we could see el Capitolio from the hotel top terrace, what a stunning view, fantastic for the picture opportunity! But when we walked down closer to the building we were a bit disappointed:( at the moment the building is going under refurbishment project so the scaffolding is all around and... More

It worth to visit there not only the Capitol but there is alot of old vintage cars. There were alot a really good dirt cheap 8 CUP hamburger across from the Captiol and next to Payrex.

Beautiful building, kind of contrasts to the rest of the crumbling city, and it's still under constant construction. Worth checking out though

This is a beautiful building but at present they are still working on it and you cant go inside.. But is still stunning .. especially at night. It looks amazing as the sun goes down I the distance.. Just for info .. in the street behind it there is an old yard full of amazing old locomotives engines, bits of... More

El Capitolio is a must see. Unfortunately, you can't go inside at the moment because of renovation work but still it is a landmark building both architecturally and historically. Apparently, once work is complete, it will once again become the seat of government in Cuba - fascinating in itself and perhaps indicative of change ahead. The whole area around El... More
