Must go place in La Habana

A bar linked to the history of Cuba, good music, and one of the best Mojitos (tipical drink) in town. Don't forgot to have a special look on the pictures all over the place.

In terms of eating and drinking, Bodeguita del Medio is distinctly average. The restaurant/bar is a tourist trap trading off a connection with Hemingway. Ambos Mundos and Floridita were more enjoyable and made for a better experience.

I came to this restaurant on my second day in Havana. The service was very transactional (quick and rushed) and was offered a mojito right away. The mojito was not good, and after I learned that there is no proof that Hemingway did come here for mojitos. We got the food and well, it was good and a lot of... More

When I visited Cuba for the first time I was 10 years old and I felt in love with this place. The atmosphere, the music, the people... There was magic in the air. When I came back someone had changed, they were selling souvenirs and the place was full of tourist. By the way I would love "la bodeguita" to... More

it is simple, you are going to pay way too much for a drink here... But what a great drink. The mojito was one of the better ones. We sat in the bar up front and you are about 6 feet away from the band. Everyone is having a great time and so it is a lot of fun to... More

We just walked by. Crowded with tourists. Yes you can get real coca-cola but.....you're in Havana. Who cares? If you want a coke go to Atlanta! And the drinks might be strong and good but you can get a stiff Mojito pretty much everywhere in Havana. The truth of it is that tourists who seek out this place out are... More

I was staying nearby and so I walked by this place a lot, but didn't go in because it was always so crowded. I'm a Hemingway fan though, and I wanted to have a mojito there, and walked by it by chance on my last night and it was very quiet, so I stopped. There was a band playing music,... More

The reason for the visit is the fact that Ernest Hemingway was a regular drinker here. The place is small and very hard to get in to get a seat so just view from the outside as most other visitors do.

We stopped by for a couple of mojitos when it just happened to fairly quiet. We got a seat without any trouble at the bar and enjoyed watching the bartender at work and listening to the band. The mojitos were delicious and you'll enjoy it especially if you can find a time when it's not packed with people.

This bar has such a great atmosphere with a great Cuban band playing along with the Mojitos flowing had people not only dancing in the bar but outside in the street. A place that you must visit if you are ever in Havana!
