Just back from a great break in Barbados which included three rounds of golf at the country club Sandy lane. Although the greens were being cored and sanded the course was in great condition and the greens did not spoil some great golf. The restaurant after our game was excellent with a great choice of food and excellent service. The... More

Stunning view across the golf course with the sea in the distance. Great service as you would expect at Sandy Lane. The food was well prepared more bistro in style with hearty portions. The only downside was there were a number of flies but that's the price you pay for alfresco dining

Played here today, but in all honesty the course was not really that interesting compared to The Royal Westmorland . Very wide fairways and hardly any real hazards other than bunkers. Superb clubhouse and pro shop. We did not eat there because we first had a couple of beers and we were invaded by flies. One had a drink of my... More

Spent some time at the Sandy Lane Country Club whilst staying at Sandy Lane. Excellent at every level - great staff and relaxed atmosphere. Someone recommended the Shepherds Pie for lunch, which seems odd in Barbados, but have to say it was out of this world!!

Afternoon tea was scrumptious but too much for us so we asked for a doggy bag. Sandy Lane is beautiful and pink - very pink! The furniture, crockery, flowers, trees, uniforms and sun loungers are all fuchsia pink. Lovely occasion.

We paid the twilight rate of 140 US dollars each, but be aware of the add ons. Caddy 50 US dollars plus 'recommended' tip. We tipped 30 US dollars for an excellent caddy (John) but there are stories that some caddies aren't worth any tip. The course is very open, and we thought fairly easy, even off longer tees. Some... We holidayed in Barbados April (2014). I played all 4 18-hole courses that are sensibly available to 'ordinary' folk. Comparison of all 4 below. With detail posted on each courses tripadvisor page. If you are looking to play golf in Barbados check out the Sir Garry Sobers Golf Championship. It's an Open tournament and you play all 4 courses, save... More
