Morgan Lewis Windmill, St. Andrew, Barbados is the last sugar windmill to operate in Barbados. The mill stopped operating in 1947. Morgan Lewis is one of the only two intact and restored sugar mills in the Caribbean. It is a beautiful mill to visit. It has a lot of character and history attached to it.

Having been here and enjoyed our visit 5 years ago we were disappointed to find the mill deserted and padlocked. Has it closed down recently? Mid-morning on a cruise ship day in the busiest week in high season (feb half term). Surely not. The windmill is there to photograph from the outside but no exhibitions or film show in evidence.... More

A stop to look at & take pictures of on our all day tour of the island. Interesting to see & learn the history of, would of liked to have seen the inside.

Cab took us here and told us it is the last working windmill on the island. It was raining so we just checked it out from the van. I didnt take any pictures because windows were fogged.Looks like its in good shape and should work if the wind was blowing.

If a memorable trip to the Caribbean is on your agenda, then do as we do, taking great care in choosing the right island! Barbados ticks all the requisites for us: Safe Island... Wonderful People…. Good Food... and of course... When we vacation in the Caribbean, we always look for an "authentic" local ambiance and charm, a Caribbean tropical atmosphere... More

Worth Stopping at to take a few photos. Nice site and interesting history. Not the easiest to find but good fun stop on road trip.
