Ok so this is not Royal Ascot, and all the better for it. From the jockeys, some of whom look like they are riding a donkey at the beach, to the locals who are just as fun to watch as the racing, this is worth the entrance fee. The tipsters info that came with the race programme was useless, and... More

Another great day at The Garrison. A cheap day out. We had a grandstand seat. $20 each. If you are not comfortable with gambling, don't worry you can bet as little as $1. Cheap street food and beer. You are really close to the action and it is great to watch the locals getting so excited. We took a bus... More

A great experience, great atmosphere. Book seats if you can as we were last minute visitors and seats were hard to find.

I just don't get horse racing. It has no appeal to me whatsoever. However, I have now been to the Garrison the last four times I have visited Barbados and it is great fun! It's all slightly shambolic, a little run down and I have no idea what some of the locals are shouting when cheering on their horse but... More

We went to a flat race on a Saturday afternoon. The racing was great fun, the crowd were almost as entertaining. Its easy to bet, with a minimum bet of only 1 Bajan Dollar. The onsite food was also really good - the rotis were only 9 dollars and incredibly tasty and filling. A great afternoon out.

Amazing value for a day at the races. $20BDS for a grandstand seat on the finish line. Get that at home, I challenge you! You can stand on the rails outside and pay nothing if you want to! Fantastic staff, great venue and wonderful 9 races on the day we went. To cash out in 7 of them made it... More

Good day out to break up your holiday and if you like racing. Best to spend a bit extra and book for the Members Lounge where a complimentary light lunch is served.

Went here on April 5th 2014, it's free to watch the horse racing. Had a lovely day betting just a few dollars on the 8 races. Had 4 winners and won a total of around $90 which made the day. Food and drink are available from the vendors, has we chose to stay outside and mingle with the locals, rather... More
