This was a 2nd visit to Mount Gay Rum. The Visitor Center had been completely redone & modernized since or prior visit. The quaintness we loved on our 1st visit is gone. It was still interesting, but we loved the old oak barrels & more casual presentation of rum processing from our 1st visit. Very modern presentation of rum processing... More

This visit is not to the distillery, but a visitor's centre which is attached to the bottling plant, so there is not much to see concerning the production of the rum. However, it was an interesting visit with an entertaining guided tour and plenty of samples of their products to taste.

Started with a short video presentation, then a tour of the facility, I may have this reversed, anyways it was all good. We sampled 3 varieties, then had a chance to purchase the good stuff at the bar. It was really good. ! bought some items to bring home in the gift shop, some of which would have been less... More

This is where Rum was first distilled in a drinkable form and was named after Sir John Gay Alleyne who was manager of the plantation and made it a world renowned reputation. The tour is full of interest and our guide Rhea dispensed all the information about rum production and its history with style and humour. One vivacious lady! During... More

A good trip, organised in groups of some 30 people at a time. Film introduction on this the oldest Rum producer founded in 1703 . The on to a Rum tasting session with 3 or 4 brown rums and a description of how each are made. My favourite is the white or silver Rum, however this is best used with... More

The oldest verified rum manufacturer dating back to the 1700's. Pretty cool and great history - not to mention the rum. If you come to the island of Barbados, you need to visit here!

A Rum Punch to start with, & 3 to taste at the end - perhaps that's why you have to park "back in" to start with before the tour ! A good film & view of the bottling, but the distillery is not on this site.

Great to learn the history of rum in Barbados, great and informative tour guide, with a great personality. Also enjoyed a few glasses of rum at intervals too during the tour. Not expensive and a little but if Barbadian culture and history the way!

We had a great rum tour at Mount Gay, the tour guide was amazing and loved every minute of it. I purchased 4 bottles of rum including the 1703. Thank you for a great experience unlike your competitor St Nicholas Abbey!!!
