This museum was really interesting, so I was really disappointed when we were told, we are not allowed to take pictures of the exhibits. I don't understand why. For the entrance fee they charge, it should be allowed. That kind of ruined my visit for me, as there was a lot of neat stuff in there that's worth documenting. Plus,... More

Well worth a visit. A wide range of exhibits from sea life to island history. It's located in an old military prison, which is a beautiful building with lots of character. The staff are friendly and obliging. Some of the exhibits are a bit tired, i.e. photos could do with updating, etc, but don't let that put you off going.... More

It is cool and relaxing. One day they had a craft sale and I bought sea glass earrings. Lovely things to look at and buy!

The exhibits on the original settlements by the Amerindians were very interesting. The old prison makes an intriguing setting. The children's section is frankly the best organized and informative. The museum needs updating badly but it is well worth a visit and the staff is very helpful.

If you are looking for a good something to do for a couple of hours and are near here, this is a very worthwhile activity. Close to the track, the museum has a good mixture of everything and if you manage your time properly, is easily finished in two hours.

The museum is much larger then it appears on the outside. It contains many areas to go through. It provides a fascinating glimpse into the history of Barbados and what life was like. It was much more interesting then expected.

A fairly average museum which offers a limited insight into the island but its proximity to the other attractions in the historic area such as Fort Anne and George Washington House. Museum lacks any refreshment facility other than a coin operated drinks machine - take water.

Just a short walk from the George Washington House. A great place to pick up a little history of Barbados and their culture...not to mention that you are out of the sun. Had some great photos and exhibits but not really Museum quality.

the museum has a wealth of information about the history of Barbados and the current environment. It is housed in a former prison which adds interest. The exhibits are a little tired but that is not a problem.
