We went wandering around the Garrison area while waiting to check into our hotel, that was just a few minutes away. We would have loved to see the races, the whole set up looks like fun, but there weren't any in the days we spent in the area. It was also very interesting to look at the military buildings and... We've been there twice now and enjoyed ourselves. The races are 30 minutes apart and you can place your bets right after you see the horses being led around the ring. Betting is cheap, food is cheap, beer a little less cheap. There are vendors selling bags of peanuts in the shell. $10 Bajan entrance fee to sit in the... More

heard about the races on Saturday afternoons and decided to visit. Easy parking (free) under trees round the course and reasonable entrance fee of £7. Drinks dirt cheap but food selection poor and not the best quality. I think y oh can pay £33 to watch the races from the members rooms and that includes a free lunch. That might... More

Lovely little racecourse, some decent races. Plenty of seats, dont need to buy a VIP ticket because all you get extra is a cupholder on your seat. Takes a bit longer to put bets on than usual, bit more laid back. Seats are so close to the track made it very exciting

Great walk through some historical sights in Barbados. You get an old world feel to the place as you see some of the older buildings. Its an easy walk and a great way to take a break from the beach. Make sure to hydrate, for it can get warm walking around!

We were treated to the changing of the guard on arrival. A true piece of the Empire kept for the good. Overlooking the open racecourse a little piece of England

We did not win very much, but we had a great afternoon at the races. There were 8 races on the card, with quality riding and keen competition. we sat in the main stand at a cost of B$20 each. A cushion would be useful, but very good value. Refreshments are available. Placing a bet was easy and pay-outs efficient,... More

What a great tour! This is an extremely comprehensive and interesting tour of historic sites in the Barbados Garrison area. It combines a 3-hour mix of gentle walking and short bus rides between sites led by informative avid historians. It includes a documentary film of George Washington's stay in Barbados and the links thus formed between the US Revolutionary ideas... More
