Brilliant experience at the races, fantastic atmosphere. We were in a private box and really enjoyed the food especially the flying fish. Betting is different to the UK you receive the last odds just before the race starts so if you win you don't really know how much you've won. But it makes it fun.

We went to the Derby here. It's free to get onto the grounds but you pay to get in the grandstand. It's full of locals and has a really nice vibe. Lots of excitement when the races are running! Definitely a nice change from the beach!

Race days are Saturday, check that races are on that day. You can choose to go into the grandstand and there you get the flavor and excitement of good local flavor. This iattracts mainly local race fans, so if you are a visitor you will experience the higher end of local culture. Barbados has a high standard of racing with... More

Fascinating to see the jockeys at their work. We go there everyday for our morning jog. The locals are very welcoming and friendly. Look out for the cafe at the george washington house.

I did not like Barbados at all. The beaches are all public. The pan handlers and beggars bug you all day every day. The beaches were not that nice. The sidewalks are literally falling apart. The food is unusually expensive. I found the downtown area very nasty. The people are rude This is not somewhere that I would recommend.
