Small beach but the snorkeling was very good, lots of coral and fish right outside of the small bay among the rock formations and little inlets . Would only recommend Tobacco Bay for snorkeling trip as the beach is small and there are others much nicer on the island for swimming/sunning. We went on a cloudy Tuesday which was sailway... More

After reading through reviews we decided to visit Tobacco Bay because it sounded like the perfect place to relax and snorkel. We took a bus to St. George and then ended up walking up a hill then back down the hill in order to get to the beach. My first impression of the beach was that it was overcrowded which... More

We ended up at Tobacco Bay purely by accident. We intended to go to the Grotto Bay Resort to rent kayaks but were unaware that we couldn't use the beach there (private). So while waiting for the bus (which never came) a resident pulled up and asked where we were trying to go. After explaining, he suggested that we take... More

Very pretty small beach within walking distance of the town of St. George. Had some services and did not seem that crowded. Worth a trip if you're in the area.

Tobacco Bay is just a short walk from St George and should definitely be a consideration if traveling to that end of the island. It has great views from above and a small beautiful beach that is protected on the north that make it kid friendly or novice friendly for snorkeling-gear is available for rental. Also, they have a snack... More

We enjoyed snorkeling here so much that we made the trip twice from Southampton Parish! As you come in go past the beach on your left and back past the parking area. That's where all of the rock structures provide mazes where you can snorkel and see quite a few fish. We snorkeled way out into the ocean where there... More

The only draw back about this place is that the buses DO NOT have this as a stop on their route. You have to walk up from Kings Square and let me tell you it is ONE HELL OF A WALK...probably a good few miles most of it uphill. Take a CAB!!!!! The beach itself is great, burgers are yucky... More

Great small beach and I mean small...only enough room to put down a towel but it more than makes up with the excellent swimming and snorkelling in a safe bay for the kids. Great snack place at end of beach also.

Due to ferry timings, we took the bus from the Royal Navy Dockyard to St. George. It's a pretty long bus ride (around 90 minutes). The direct ferry to St. George is faster, but service is infrequent. I found the beach to be a bit dirty. The beach itself was fine, but while snorkeling I observed lots of garbage in... More

Beautiful beach with great snorkeling! Bar and restaurant available as well. They rent snorkel equipment right there!
