The first Friday in December the historic houses in St. George's are open to the public to view, and the Old Rectory is worth the mingling through the crowds to see. Interesting and informative. Housed in a lovely old building with a history of its own, this small museum is well worth the $5 admission. The intro film is pretty darn good and the the exhibits are worth the visit. It also has a nice little gift shop. The volunteers who run it are very nice too.

We were able to view the inside for 'free' during St. George's annual Christmas 'walkabout' and found the beams and limestone ceiling beautiful in the night light. The interior is very austere, but indicative of those times.
