This seems to have been made as a memorial type of grotto, and there were no special sightings or miracles claimed at this location. Since the island is 80 percent Roman Catholic, this is a significant spot for worshipers.

We saw it on the map but unintentionally ended up there. Kitchy but earnest religious statues are tucked in the grotto. There are a few photos of children in need of prayers. There are no signs to tell you about it.

This is a place of significance to Arubians where a Catholic Mass is performed every year on February 11th. The shrine is build into the rocks on a drive northeast of San Nicolas located in Sero Preto. The Mass is preceeded by a procession that leaves from the St Theresita Church in San Nicolas. There is roadside parking as the... More

The Lourdes Grotto is well preserved and well kept for its time. So reverend….I felt so at peace inside when we stopped to check it out from our bus tour.

This is one of my favorite places to visit while in Aruba. Nestled on the side of the road you will find Lourdes Grotto, an altar build in the stone wall. The stone statues are beautiful. There is a sense of peace and stillness at the grotto to breathe in and enjoy.

We had gone to baby beach and on the way home we took a little side trip to check out the Grotto. The Grotto was built with in a cave and is set up for mass and pilgrimages. We walked around and took some pictures. there was another cave and alter set-up across the road. There was no one there... More

The Lourdes Grotto is a nice place to stop and take a couple of pictures and then continue your way. It's built in a stone wall and you can see and access it directly from the road. If you take the drive don't blink or you might miss it :-)

This is the best of the caves. Take a torch if you have one, but you can get by without one. A few bats were flapping about, which added to the atmosphere. best when no one else is about as too many people spoil the tranquility.

This is not nearly as elegant as say the Alta Vista Chapel. This is a small shrine set up in a cave-ish formation. Clearly it was created with a respect and love of the Virgin Mary, and as such, would have significance to those visiting to pay homage, say a prayer, make a donation. I would not called it a...
