I wish there were plaques available at the site to understand the history more. It is nice that they let you wander through to see the architecture though. Always a good place to stop if you have never been here.

Despite the lack of signs to find the Gold Mine Ruins we eventually found them by heading in that sort of direction and using the Aruba Official travel App map (Quite useful! Shame on you google maps.) We went here on the way to natural bridge (which doesn't exist anymore) in a rental car and had to drive slowly because... More

I must say that despite it's lack of informational signs the abandoned gold mines of Aruba were very nice to see! It's nice to see a part of Aruba's history. In general, I loved climbing up the ruins and simply exploring. I didn't really get much of the historical aspect because, as stated earlier, there were no informational signs and... More

From a distance the ruins stand and I have seen them twice previously. This time we rented a car so we drove over to the Aruba Island Gold Mining Company's ruins. There wasn't a tour guide so what we learned about it was off the internet. Apparently, in its heyday, around 3 million pounds of gold were mined there, then transported... More

Amazing photo op.. nice views. rocky beach nearby. Most 4X4 tours stop here but I went here on the way to natural bridge in a rental car and it worked fine. There was a small souvenir and snack shop outside the ruins and the lady who runs the shop has very interesting stories about sharks and this side of the... More

We stopped here on our Jeep Safari tour. Interesting history. Very old site with splendid views of the rocky terrain and the coast. We climbed to the top and got some great shots of the coast. Fun location. Takes some effort to climb. I wouldn't let your kids loose on it...could result in some scraped knees! Great spot to do... More

This is a very cool site and educational. You can climb the ruin and take pictures. If your hungry its a good place to get a hotdog or hamburger.

By far the oldest thing I've seen on the island other than the island itself. There is not much left of the structure but I still feel it was cool to climb and explore. Nice spot to take pictures for sure. There is not to many places left that you can climb on and kind of feel the history beneath... More

This was one of our stops on our Kini Kini ATV Tour. It was fun climbing around the ruins. There were gorgeous views of the ocean and great photo op. It was a nice stop on the tour....great views getting there. Definitely a good stop to visit at least once.

This was a neat little stop. It only took a few minutes to climb around the ruins and enjoy the panoramic views. But the stone window frames with the ocean in the background made for some interesting photo ops. Afterwards we walked past the hundreds of stacked stone cairns that apparently have no significance but are impressive in their sheer... More
